Great intro tablet, well worth the price.

I bought this for my son as we were about to go on a two week vacation. Setup was easy we were on our way.
So what is good about the tablet. First screen is very responsive(as this replaced another cheap tablet that didn't have one this would be the best feature). I would say it is as good as my Galaxy Tab 7. Sound is good. Apps are good. I saw that someone complained that not all apps are compatiable but the reason is Flash is no longer supported by the latest Android OS. I know that my phone and this tablet have the same shortfalls and my Galaxy 7 is older and has flash and they are available there. The camera is only a web cam. There is not another camera. But for 100 bucks you are not going to get everything. My son has done hangout with me and wasn't bad at all. Overall it is a sturdy small tablet, looks nice, screen is great, sound good. Battery worked very well. We drove 5-9 hours and only once did he run it completely down. If you are looking for a nice small tablet at a budget price this is a very good one.

Would note that some say pay 50-70 dollars more for another tab. Sure but that is 50-70% more.

Great little tablet, but I'd recommend buying the newer model

I bought this tablet because it was cheap and I needed mobile internet on a decently-sized screen. I never expected to like my tablet as much as I do, and I am really happy with this purchase. This tablet is lighter in the hand than the standard Kindle, and the dimensions are slightly different as well. The screen is taller and slightly narrower compared to the Kindle, which I actually prefer since it mimics the dimensions of a standard paperback.

Speakers are not spectacular and are located on the back of the device, so don't expect any great sound quality. It isn't bad, but it's not a strong point. There is also only one camera, which is front-facing. The newer model (ME173X) has a rear-facing camera, which I sometimes wish I had, so if you're going to be taking pictures, even if it's just to look up QR codes, that's something to consider.

For the most part though, the screen is nice and bright, the battery life is great, and the touch response is excellent. It's a solid little budget tablet, and if you can get it for less than the newer model (like I did), it's a great buy. Otherwise, I'd recommend going for the ME173X.

Good entry-level tablet, not good for much else

So I want to preface this review by saying that I have not owned a tablet before this, just smartphones and PCs. This tablet is not particularly powerful, so I found myself having to restrict what I wanted to do with it. This is not a gaming tablet, and cannot handle most gaming applications. It is in the most essential of ways, a general use tablet.

Pros:
- This tablet has the phone shaped design for a 7" screen, making it somewhat easier to hold than an 8.9" or 10" tablet.
- It comes with the Play store unlike most tablets in this price range.
- For the price range, this tablet performs well enough to be a solid pick amongst the other entry level tablets.

Cons:
- It is an entry level tablet. Long boot times and general lag in the performance
- The tablet will freeze from time to time in loading applications and waking up from sleep.
- Tablet shuts off at random times for no reason.
- There are no drivers to connect the tablet to the PC

Overall:

This is a very good entry level tablet, but if you are a power user or are looking to play games with a tablet, you may need to look elsewhere as this tablet will not deliver a good gaming experience. I would suggest that this would be an excellent tablet for reading books or magazines, but not much else.

Mostly useless and slow

This is slow, drags between activities, and failed with the MAIN reason I bought it. Basically, I bought it to back up pics on vacation. I have a camera card reader that has a micro USB attachment (the only input that this device has). So, I plugged in my micro USB card reader multiple times at home to test it. All was well. Then, I bring it to vacation and suddenly it's telling me my pics are corrupted and totally freaks me out. None of my pics were corrupted - and the guy at the hotel front desk confirmed that (as did I when I got home). Also, this is very heavy for the size...I'm used to an iPhone weight / density - and this is much more dense. Oh - speaking of iPhone - here is a good use for this tablet if you travel: There is a "workaround" that will let you use the "find my iphone" website which you can read about online. The other thing is that it lets you encrypt the whole device pretty easily, which is good again if you are traveling.

Looks great and has good screen, but the battery doesn't last the 7 hours that they say; the battery of mine gets out of battery like in 3 hours even without using it. The screen has a good quality but the apps are very slow to respond and sometimes the processor gets bogged. I bought it as a tool in my Spanish courses to get to check attendance from there but I stopped to do that job and then I couldn't find the tablet more useful than my laptop or phone because is so slow and runs out of battery very fast, and also because there are lots of apps that are not compatible with this tablet. I would have return it if I didn't let pass so much time without checking its usefulness.

This is not a bad tablet, but it does not have a forward facing camera. I purchased my step son the newer version for his birthday and it includes a better display and a forward facing camera. I thought I was getting the same one on Amazon (should have read the description better) but it is the older version (it cost the same as the newer one). So I was a bit disappointed in that, but it does what I need it to besides Skype. It has a good enough display to watch Netflix on, and the google store has some great movies as well that you can purchase or rent. I use it mainly for when I am traveling to watch tv, check my email, read e-books and go on facebook, and it does all of this well. I also like that it has expandable memory up to 16 gigs which is nice to store all of my movies and e-books on.

This tablet started out great. Battery life was good, clear picture. My son plays games using the apps. Soon we noticed a delay, or lag in the response time while playing games. Then the charger stopped working. The tablet still charges using our samsung or bb charger.... Overall, thought it was a great purchase at first but it was short lived.
