Great product for the price!! - for all who have reasonable expectations.
This is going to be an indepth review because I feel this is one of those item that deserves that especially when I read both the positive and negative reviews before I bought it.First off, this is not a $400 Romba , this is a $25 rotating swiffer. It is 16 times cheaper but definitely NOT 16 times worse. Romba is a vacuum cleaner so the performance of it would be better. But many who have a Romba also complain that it doesnt do a 100% job, and neither does this. Heck , the closest to the 100% clean floor, you will ever get is when it is done by a human, everything else is a compromise. This helps in "maintaining" the house without spending the effort of cleaning it all the time. Most of us dont have the time to do a floor cleaning every day and this becomes a good accessory to have. The other reviews I read were complain about it getting stuck or jammed after a few months. Thats because you have to open the wheel and clean it. This is also in the manual I believe. See the pics attach and see the amount of hair rolled around it ( which also shows that its not spinning around doing nothing). I would recommend doing this once in two months or whenever you notice it getting stuck in circles. The way this works is that at the base of it, it has a worm and wheel gear which rotates. The pattern is completely random and non predictable so that would debunk any claims the product makes of it covering everything equally as it cant. some spots get whiped more than others. thats just the nature of the mechanism. Here are the PROs and CONsPROS:1) It has a a random pattern and the base cloth picks up dirt really well. I have noticed it is great at picking up light stuff ( hair, dust, pieces of kleanex). and no, the cloth underneath is not useable. Try removing the hair from it and you will realize how difficult it is. It holds onto it that strong!2) This is an accumulator. This doesnt do a one pass clean for a room, it keeps turning and "accumulates". The value it adds is that if you are in a hurry or away from home, charge it up and let it loose and it would have cleaned up the floor 80-85% by the time you get back.3) Size is great, it does slide underneath beds and sofas and those hard to get places.4) the grimes on the floor is considerably less. We could notice a huge difference. Running it every other day would keep your floor mostly grime free and not give you that sticky feeling when you walk bare feet.5) weekend cleanings have been easier on us whenever we have used this. See the images, it does pick up dirt and hair quite easily and thats less for us to clean/pick up.6) Given the shape and that the bottom ring attachment is flexible it does a great job of cleaning the edges and corners. The ring flexes and serves as to whipe both sides of the corner. See video.7) It does divert whenever it comes across an "object", but lighter things ( like papers or stuffed toys), it just pushes them over. I would still recommend getting stuff of the floor so it can get to places to clean which the obstacle might prevent.8) The rotating action I believe is better at swiping and picking up the dirt than the to and fro motion.CONS:1) does not work if you have ANY water on the floor. if you have floor is wet, IT WILL MAKE A BIG MESS! all the dust it had gathered would get wet and get on your floor. This is not a big flaw and just something to keep in mind.2) It does not cover everything uniformly, some areas get covered more than the others some dont. again, you must be a special kind of idiot to expect a $25 thing to clean your house spick and span. It does clean and it cleans well and reduces your work. but dont expect it to be 100% clean.3) considering that its an accumulator and works best if you just let it be, I wish the battery lasted longer. I dont get my entire 1500 sq ground floor covered in the 2 hour charge it holds , so end up having to charge it again. Had the battery lasted like 3-4 hours, this would have been amazing.4) the refills are a little pricey ( thought the cheapest I found was at Walmart), you can use both sides, but close to 50 cents a cloth is a tad on the higher side.5) from time to time, it can get stuck in a location but in my use of 4 months, this has happened only a few times. and if you clean the wheels you notice a big difference in speed.6) I have an open house ( not too many doors) but if you dont ( and have too many doors), it would exit the door after a few tries not very swiftly as it would hit the edges and go back. It would clean that room very well though. So in summary, If you are looking to help keep the house cleaner and dont have time to do it every day, but dont want to completely replace it, I would recommend this. I dont think it can be completely replaced with any device. If you are not sure on the $400 investment for Romba, you can try this. You have to go somewhere and dont have time to clean, let this loose. Your floor would be alot cleaner than it was. It is one of the best $25 you would spend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comparison DIY& Official Pads; Great Sweeper but DO NOT buy at $80!!
Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2016
This sweeper is a terrific help around the house. I still sweep every 10 days or so, but that's cut down quite a bit. I used to have cat hair tumbleweeds between sweepings, but this little machine stopped that. It is an excellent value at approximately $24, but now that it's only available by 3rd party sellers at about $80, I'm not sure I would advise buying it.

For those wondering about the relative quality of the refill pads as opposed to DIY re-useable pads, I compared 5 pads: official refills, the pads that came with it, swifter sweeper pads, homemade shammy pads and homemade microfiber pads. I did not sweep or use the sweeper for 2 days before each test (hence all the black cat hair).

Official replacement pads: These are just the right thickness and have a texture that traps pet hair and debris (it catches much more pet hair than shows up in the photo). These are simple. Order them. They arrive. Use. For that they are in a tie for number one of the 5 pads I tried. But, if you use this device often, they can get kind of pricey. Also, on these, as with all the other pads, don't turn them over to re-use. That will just get debris in the Velcro that holds the pads on and it's plain gross.

DIY Microfiber pads: I bought a 2-pack of microfiber cleaning cloths (rags) for $1 at Dollar Tree and cut them to the appropriate size and shape. These pick up almost as well as the official refill pads, so they're in a tie for first place. They can be washed and used repeatedly, but if you generally sweep up a lot of pet hair or debris, you'll want to wash them separately, so they don't transfer their catchings to your other laundry. The main con with these is that they can be difficult to get on the machine just right. If they wrinkle or bunch up, they can stop the unit from moving. I also feel that I'll always need to keep some "real" pads in case I don't have any of these washed. Also, note that I don't think a thicker microfiber kitchen towel would work. The thickness would make it difficult for the machine to move effectively.

Swiffer pads: These are as effective as the official refill pads. Even store brands were good, so these can be cost effective if you are a patient person who will punish themself to save a quarter. Every time you use these, you have to use 2 and must cut them every single time in order for the wheels to be exposed. So, these are third on my list for the annoyance.

The pads that come with it: 3 thin, flimsy pads come with this machine. Do not judge what the refill pads will be like based on these (see photos). They work ok, but are 4th on my list. Besides, you can't get any more.

Shammy: I bought a bit thicker, stiffer Shammy at Dollar Tree. It held promise, but not much else. It flunked entirely. The machine also moved more slowly and laboriously with the thickness.

I hoped this answered some questions. Thanks!
