I ordered this episode because I've been to Jamaica several times, more times than any other country that I've visited. However, it's always fun to watch anything with Jamaica in the title. I love seeing the places that I've visited; as well as watching some of the same people that gave us tours while we were there. Samatha is so fun and witty. She's so geniune and has a great sense of humor. She can hold her own with people of other cultures and ethnicities. She makes everyone feel liked and appreciated. I really wish she were still a regular on the Travel Channel. I enjoyed the show very much, it was fun and she looked like she was having a great time. It showed a lot of places that most people don't visit, but included the regular touristy places as well.
Samantha Brown is always so enthusiastic and dives right into every experience! We are frequent visitors to all the locations and she did a great job covering many of the highlights in Napa and Sonoma. As any traveler knows, it was just the tip of the iceberg. We met her in Napa years ago when she was visiting Napa Olive Oil Co. Her ability to connect with the people she interviews is truly an art and she was warm and friendly to those of us crashing into her filming.
Samantha Brown is delightful, totally unpretentious and not afraid to make fun of herself. She shows you the "must sees" for each location. The only drawback I see is that the hotels she chooses, although reasonable in price to a New Yorker, may be a bit high for the rest of us. However, one can't really expect bargains when traveling abroad.
I have loved Samantha Brown since she started on the Travel Channel. I sincerely wish she'd do some new programs.
We always watched her during the time she had her own show on TV, and now to be able to watch her again is a real pleasure. Her "ordinary people" approach in some cases appeals to everyone who would want to travel to the places she does. She makes it not only educational, but inviting and fun. Plus, we're able to see ones we hadn't seen before.
Love Samantha Brown! She puts herself in positions ( such as a mud bath in this episode) that you just know would not have been on her bucket list...all so the viewer can see what options are available. She's very genuine in her comments and brings us right into the experience!
I have enjoyed the entire Samatha Brown series and wish there were more. Her spirited view of the world is refreshing, Last night I viewed the episode with her ziplining over seven waterfalls in Jimaca. Fun!
One day maybe I'll travel. Until then I get to travel virtually and vicariously through these wonderful videos Samantha made a few years ago. Now, from what I understand, she's a happy Mom and probably doesn't travel quite as much. Samantha changed the way travel videos are made by lending her delightful personality to every video she participated in.
