It seems to pick up 800 MHz frequencies well. However, it is not a good fit for the BCD436HP. It shows exposed SMA connector after installed. It won't screw all the way down onto the scanner. I know that this antenna wasn't specifically designed for the BCD436HP so I give it 4 stars because it seems to pick up well.

I bought this for my Uniden 396xt based on other reviews of performance. I saw no noticable gain in signal strength between this antenna or the original one. It fit perfect on my model scanner. Go to Radio Shack if you want something better.

This antenna does a great job at pulling in the frequencies it was designed to intercept. I cannot give this a higher rating because the tip has already come off of this antenna, a minor cosmetic issue.

I received the antenna in just 4 days with standard shipping. Quite fast. The performance of this antenna is great. It out performs my roof mounted antenna. Granted, that may be due to loss in the coax, but this antenna certainly does what I wanted it to.

On the above item: I have the pro-106 scanner there is a slight difference from the 800 MHz from RadioShack the spectrumforce 700-800 MHz it seems to pick up more frequency from a distance therefore I would suggest others to try it
