Use Paint Protection

Step 2 Loosen

Install Door Lock

Tighten Door Lock

Install Paint Protector

On the upper door hinge, hang/place paint protector centered just below the hinge nut. For some models use painters tape to hold in place.

Remove Door Hinge Nut

Using the appropriate driver, socket, or bit, remove the hinge nut.

Install Door Lock

Insert key tool into hinge lock and engage lock nut pattern. Thread the lock into hinge by hand.

Tighten Door Lock

Using a ¼” ratchet and key tool, tighten the lock to approximately 80-90in.lbs. Do not over-tighten. Remove key tool and paint protector. Repeat process on other doors (one lock per door).
