I have used this cable on three different laptops (Dell Latitude, Toshiba, and an HP Pavilion) to connect to two different projectors in the last few weeks and I like it. All of the computers were running Windows 7. The projects were the types that are permanently mounted in college classrooms. I used the HP Pavilion most often because it is my main laptop – the others were ones I borrowed from friends for this review. I noticed that the issue I have had with the screen stretching vertically on the VGA port with a VGA cable that I normally use does not happen when I use the HDMI port with this cable. While I am not sure this is due to the cable or the port, using this cable results in the non-stretched screen, so I will keep using it. On all three laptops, using this cable and adaptor was truly plug and play.

DO NOT PURCHASE! unless you feel like wasting $50+. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad W540 and two Lenovo HDMI Monitors. I bought this to setup and external display with both Monitors but when connected, the screen flickers trying to register the monitors but cannot, only shows them as disconnected.
UPDATE: Is there a way to have this de-listed from Amazon!? I bought this, shipped international so its not like i can return it. I've been trying with this for the past 2 days hoping for i guess a miracle.... it just does not work!

I was glad to find this for much cheaper than retail stores around. It works great, the only issue is that the VGA does not stay in my laptop very good. There are no screw holes in the laptop to help hold it in. This issue has caused the video to go off even if someone is just walking by the computer.

Works like it says it would, my issue was I wanted dual screens on a MAC AIR and it didn't work like Windows. I need a mini DP hub apparently. I don't know why Windows can split the screen and MAC's can not.

A couple of months ago I bought a cheap, no name HDMI to VGA adaptor. I tried to use it for a presentation at work on an ancient projector. I couldn't get it to work correctly - all I could get on the screen was a squiggly image on the screen. It turned out that the cheap adaptor only worked with very short cables. Which is a serious problem when using an old ceiling projectors with long VGA cables.

I was excited to get the Belkin HDMI to VGA adapter to replace my old adapter. I tried it at work today and it just worked on every projector I tried it on. I wish I'd started with this adapter rather than a cheapo one.

This adapter will have an important place in my computer bag at until all of the ancient projectors are replaced at work.

Expanding on this, unlike some other devises at twice the price, any streaming video you can watch on your pc/laptop, you can now throw onto your television screen. And You will never have to update your OS, or use any particular browser, or even have wifi to use it.

I recently got one of the newer "ultrabook" style laptops, and they have very limited input/outputs jacks. Showed up at a meeting and got in huge trouble with the boss because I couldn't connect it to the projector! With this adapter you can use the display port to connect to any VGA input.
