Thank the Good God She Found Jesus is a vividly detailed account of a wayward girl’s quest for redemption, a quest to be anybody other than who she is or thinks she might be. Felicia’s looking for the wrong reasons, in the wrong places, and it’s clear it’s just a matter of time before her quasi-sincerity backfires. The narrative is evocative and the imagery fantastic – you can feel the sun beating down on your neck and smell the hypocrisy in the air. As the story winds to its bleak conclusion, you find yourself questioning your own motives and hoping fervently that you’re not as misguided and unsuccessful as Felicia. You also get the feeling that if Felicia really decided to put her mind to it, she could find what she’s looking for. I hope she comes back in another book.

"Thank the Good God She Found Jesus" is a witty, funny, probing look at a character's attempt to change and better her life. The problem is, Felicia (the main character) is looking in the wrong places, and she isn't as sincere in her convictions as she thinks she is. Karen Robiscoe's prose is a joy to read, and her dialogue pops with every sentence uttered. The author has a knack to make you want to laugh and cry at the same time--a perfect blend for the satirical story. In the end, Felicity does indeed find Jesus . . . just not in the way she envisioned! Highly recommended short story!

One of the best and funniest stories Ms. Robiscoe has written to date. She has a real knack for satire in the way she depicts the odd characters that people the California scene. Her dialogue captures them to a "T" revealing them at their best (or so they think) and at their worst, yet in a way that is kind to their foibles and self illusions.

Thank The Good God She Found Jesus is a short book by Karen Robiscoe and is a humorous tale about an ex drunk fighting her inner demons by using the Church. She also tries to make a little money by using back doors where she works. One of the reasons for going to church is because she likes the Pastor.

As usual, Karen mixes story telling with humour in her unique style. It is a great little book, and I would recommend it. Although it sounds irreverent, it really does not have that much to do with the church. It is more one woman’s struggles with alcoholism and trying to put her past behind her.

If you want a quick read, I’d suggest this book. The only issue – I would have loved it to be longer
