Bright little brake light

This thing is bright. I bought this because my new 2015 jeep has LED everything except the side brake lights. HUH? what were they thinking. They redesign everything except the brake lights? This day and age I'm disappointed. Anyway, I wanted to increase the stopping visibility of my vehicle to increase safety and to get the attention of distracted drivers. This thing definitely does it and its small and unobtrusive. If your looking to increase your braking visibility I recommend this light. It doesn't have a running light it only comes on when stopping and it flashes with the right turn signal not the left. Not a big deal for me since I'm only looking to make my braking more visible. It actually lights up enough to see whats behind you when backing up to an object on the rear view camera. You cant go wrong for the price. If you live in a sketchy area I recommend getting a locking hitch pin so no one walks off with it but it comes with a standard non locking pin so you can use it right out of the box. It fits a standard 2" receiver. Its a bit loose like some of the other reviews have mentioned but not enough to be a problem. You can always use some electrical tape to make it thicker so it fits tight but its not an operational issue. great little hitch brake light. I love it and am glad i purchased it.

May create a lighting fault code in newer vehicles

If you have a newer vehicle this may throw a warning code at you as the car will think a light's out due to the reduced electrical draw of the LED bulbs. This was the case in my late model Ford and is the only reason I decided to return this.

That being said, I felt it was of alright construction. The plastic seemed cheap and I was concerned with how well it'd hold up to regular sun exposure. The bulbs were bright and would function well as an added warning to indicate braking. It did sit a little loose in my Class II receiver, but just about everything does. I used some extra o-rings I had to tighten its fit inside the receiver. On my vehicle, the wiring harness was too short to wrap it in a way to look tidy and too long to prevent it from not sagging into view and looking sloppy. Finally, had I kept the light I would've used a locking hitch pin in place of the supplied hardware to prevent theft.

Well, unfortunately this brake light flashes when you put your right blinker on and makes you look like an idiot who didnt know how to wire his light instead of having a really cool LED brake light. The light is really bright and works well with the brake and if that were the only time it worked I would have given it 5 stars.

Cheap plastic construction. Connector is not quality

Cheap plastic construction. The foam insert is just a piece of foam about 1cm thick that they happened to shove over the neck of the light. The wiring doesn't have a slot for the wires to pass through so they are smashed between the foam and the plastic housing. The connector doesn't fit really well with 4 pin connectors and is shorter than necessary. Braking will activate the light. The right turn signal ONLY will also cause the light to activate. No clue how that made it through the QA/QC process but it is what it is. I would not purchase again and ended up throwing it in the garage for the next yardsale. Maybe I can get $10 for it there from someone.

This is a bright light. It is true that it blinks with the right signal light. This is weird and distracting and I would have returned it if I couldn't fix it. So, this was my solution. I cut off the connector plug and rewired (connected) a new connector plug. I connected the green wire from the light to the yellow and green wire of the new plug. The white to the white. With this modification the light will flash with either signal but come on constant with braking. This works much better (in my opinion). It will attract attention with signaling and then braking.
