Perfect set to add to your Medela things

I am very pleased with this add on, and I think it's a must for anyone that uses a Medela pump.The 3 nipples are medium flow, so this would be for babies 4 months and older. It's not ideal for a newborn, because if they get accustomed to the heavier flow, it may interfere with establishing mother's milk supply and baby may refuse the breast in preference for the bottle.

You also get: 3 bottle caps (which go over the bottle with a nipple on it), 3 storage caps, 3 discs for travel purposes, and 3 collars. The Medela pump that I have came with 4 storage bottles, so this is perfect for turning them into drinking bottles. I pump into the bottles, freeze them, then we need the (thawed and warmed in a bowl of hot water) milk, we just open and pop a collar and nipple on it.

Oh there is also a nifty mesh bag for keeping all the parts in one area which is dishwasher friendly. Anyone who has a baby knows how baby gear and feeding supplies can just multiple and get 'junky' so I really appreciate having something to corral these parts.

I think the price is reasonable, because instead of buying a new set of bottles, I can just use this with the existing Medela bottles that I have. It makes for better organization and reducing clutter (not having 10 different types of bottles with their random parts to keep up with.)

Very pleased with this set, and I highly recommend it.

A must-have for Medela bottles

This is a great kit and is a must-have for anyone using Medela bottles. The quality is exceptional. I used the slow-flow nipples until my baby was four months old and then upgraded to the medium flow. I use 4-6 bottles per day and only have these three nipples in my rotation. They have held up beautifully. After several months of use, the nipples and rings are still in great condition. They are easy to clean and maintain. I am constantly losing caps, and it is nice to have some extras around.

The mesh bag makes it easy to throw everything in the dishwasher for cleaning and sterilizing. I have extremely hard water, so boiling to sterilize is not an option for me unless I used distilled or filtered water, and the dishwasher is a much easier option. The bag keeps everything together perfectly. I tuck the drawstring in to keep it from accidentally getting tangled in the dishwasher blades and then put it on the top rack.

My only complaint is that I sometimes had trouble seeing where the flow rate is marked. Medela stamps the flow rate on the bottom, flat part of the nipple along with the brand name. When I first switched to medium flow, I alternated between medium and slow flow nipples. I had to check every time to make sure I had the one I wanted since they look exactly the same. Other brands stamp on the top side of the nipple, making it easier to see, especially when trying to make a bottle in the middle of the night and your eyes aren't quite open all the way. Otherwise, I have no complaints about the quality and highly recommend this kit.

Works with but not exactly the same as older medela bottles

We bought this to supplement our existing supply of Medela bottles. They aren't exactly the same - the yellow "band" parts screw on a little harder, and the clear cap isn't quite as secure... but it works. We don't subject our bottles to anything too rigorous, so it works for us. Just be aware that Medela changed their design slightly over the years.

Just what I needed when my baby starting refusing his Dr. Brown bottles and nipples. This kit is great because all of the parts fit right in to my medela bottles right after I pump. So now there is no need to switch bottles and risk wasting milk. I also use the net bag that came with the kit to store and clean my tops. I'm so glad this was available on Amazon because it was impossible to find in a store.

These nipples were flimsy and felt cheap. They collapsed on my daughter so she couldn’t get any milk out. They were convenient because I could pump into the medela bottles and feed right from them, but the convenience only lasted a few weeks before my daycare requested new bottles because these suck.

Great all-in-one deal of necessary bottle parts

These are really necessary to have on hand if you pump a lot and/or are an exclusive pumper. Or even if your baby goes through a lot of bottles like at daycare or at grandma's. I like the lids that protect the bottle from bacteria. And there are three bottle nipples and bases which always come in handy because mine usually seem to be dirty or missing so I like to have extras. I even like the mesh bag to keep it all in in my pump bag or bin full of bottles and other pumping stuff. I think this was a good all-in-one deal and I'm glad I bought it.

Not the best choice for bottles

I had the storage set by Medela for when I was breast feeding and pumping. I ordered these later on so I can have a few extra bottle sets. Honestly they are ok and I would probably give them a 3.5....the smaller size is convenient. My issues with them are that the nipple constantly collapse in my son's mouth so I have to twist or pull it out to let it inflate again for him to get the milk faster. I've gotten used to it but it is an annoyance. Also the caps are too tall and allow too much of a gap between nipple and top so if your diaper bag gets tipped over or the bottle gets knocked over the milk will just spill out and fill up the cap. There are better choices of bottles out there on the market but it does what is needed, I guess.

i needed an extra set of nipples to go with the bags and bags of bottles the hospital sent us home with. These nipples are slightly faster than the slow flow nipples and so are used, in general by slightly older (3+ months) infants.
Also, the bag is dishwasher safe and is very useful to throw pacifiers or nipples quick in the dishwasher without worrying about losing them.
