What I like most about this show is the international setting: Paris, Amsterdam etc. It doesn't hurt to have Donald Sutherland as one of the cast either. The plot is fun: several agents from different countries combine forces to solve international crimes. In the pilot someone is killing young women and crosses international borders to do so. As the countries haven't been working together to share information, the killer is getting away with it and appears he will continue his spree. However, with the new elite international team formed, they hope to stop him in his tracks. The diverse members of the team are multi-talented and have strong personalities. Each has their own story. Love the European setting and the strong cast.
This is a good tv show from france that we were lucky enough to get on nbc, I missed one episode and had to watch it on instant video. The show is only a ten parter and we will have to wait till next year to find out what's happening. It ended on a cliffhanger of course! At least there will be a season 2. The cast is first rate and the always excellent Donald Sutherland leads the cast here. William fictner is also well known over here and he's great in this show. The real standout, the rest of the international cast is good too as the team hunts down killers and badguys around Europe. While the backstory of the evil Russian mobster who is after them all adds more depth. The other background story is the evil child slaver character who is a awesome villain and monster even if it made no sense that he escapes from custody. But he is a villain that the show does need for sure. This is a good cop show and it's thankfully done overseas , and that helps it's intrigue.
I really like this edgy, tight series. Too many "cop" shows rely on some cutesy interrelationship to carry it. This one is all business and multileveled in its plot lines. Donald Sutherland continues to be one of my favorite actors. He had me in Mash and it only got better. I like William Fichtner and am glad to see he has a lead role in this series. I think he is a much underappreciated actor who now has an opportunity to shine.
Fantastic show. You get to see a glimpse of Europe (makes me want to go back for a visit) and what's not to like about Donald Sutherland? He and Fitchner are notable in American films and tv but the other actors have wonderful characters and it's in English so no subtitles unless you insist. I just found this after clicking on it to see what it was about. I thought it was just another paranormal show and had passed it over previously. Not even close! It's good "police drama".
I loved the story lines - well written, developed, and carried from episode to episode. I was completely blown away by the gorgeous photography of classic and modern European sites. Placing this series internationally was a stroke of genius! Paris, Rome, oh my! The team members of this elite crew of top notch investigators meshed beautifully and each character was given their own exposure, quirks and sins all. I have been a Donald Sutherlan fan forever and was so glad to see him in this in his patriarchal role. William Fitchtner has really come into his own in this show - marvelously mature acting of a decorated police officer fallen into the depths of drug addiction after a maiming gunshot wound in the line of duty. He displays the high intelligence, self-pity and pathos of his character all at the same time he is climbing out of the depths he has sunk to. His slow recovery is agonizing to watch as it is very realistic. Marc Lavoin is mesmerizing in his role as Louis, the head of this international crime fighting unit. When his own personal tragedy is revealed it is heart breaking. The rest of the team is equally talented. I like them all and hope to hell-o the folks at NBC are bright enough to pick this up for Season 2. I am eagerly looking forward to its continuance.
The plot line might be of interest -- international crime fighting team that can cross borders in Europe. Unlike its similar British counterpart "StrikeBack", the plot is developed over one episode, not an entire season, making the flow of the show rough and incomplete. Character development is likewise forced. Predictable characters with "unexplained" or "dark" backgrounds makes for some surprises and ongoing character development. Donald Sutherland has a good role and is worth watching in this, and nearly anything else he does.
The plots are always believable, interesting, and dramatic//superb cast who does a fine job// hard to believe this terrific work is on American TV. NBC has threatened not to air it next season//there are 12 new episodes coming. Thank God for Amazon.Com so I can see both entire seasons--the one past, and the upcoming season. VERY SOPHISTICATED//SHOWS NEW EQUIPMENT FOR CATCHING CRIMINALS.
The story played out through a multi-national cast is unique: personalities, cultural assumptions, mannerisms, even language is very different between the team members. This global perspective should happen more often on provincial American television. Stories are well-rendered and complex. Sometimes it is so suspenseful, I found myself wanting to roll through to the resolution. But, never mind. Watch ever second. You won't be disappointed.
