[Update: 1/12/2014] I'm going to have to downgrade my rating of this unit from 4 stars to 1 star. I bought it in November of 2013 for use on a Windows 8 computer. The notes in reviews, and on Amazon noted that the driver available for it won't work with Windows 8.1, and I've seen no indication that a new driver is available which will. I wrote support@lowerpriceusa.com back in November when I bought it and asked about a Win 8.1 compatible driver, and they wrote back and said "very soon, could be in a couple of weeks". Windows 8.1 has been out for many months now, and it seems that bolse (a.k.a. lowerpriceusa.com) is still telling people "very soon, could be in a couple of weeks". Meanwhile everyone who has one of these is stuck at Windows 8 and unable to accept Microsoft's offer on every boot-up to upgrade to v8.1 with its substantial improvements over v8.

A high-tech product is not just a piece of hardware, like a shovel or a knife. The purchase of any such piece of equipment involves a relationship between the manufacturer and the end user, and when the manufacturer not only balks on needed support, but is duplicitous in telling the world about it, then an essential part of the purchase has gone missing. If and when bolse addresses this problem I'll bump my rating back to 4 or 5 stars again, but until then, as far as I'm concerned, it's broke!

The Bolse BO-N1559 seems to be a fine little unit, speedy and more reliable that the Netgear adapter it replaced. The UI for the management software and driver for it is well designed and clear.

Wow, I plugged it in and before I even loaded the software I had a nice boost in signal. This almost doubled my signal strength (it was bad).
I was one of those poor souls who was constantly disconnecting from the rest of the world. Isolated and alone I could only hope that somehow I would find a connection. Now, with this wonderful little adapter I'm a happy camper! I'm connected with everyone, I see a whole world of ads, lots of ads, more ads than I can even take in! And cat videos, I'm constantly entertained by those cute little furballs. My life has meaning and movement! I can now shop Amazon in the kitchen, or my bedroom - I can even take my laptop outside and entertain the birds.
Easy to install, nice signal boost, if you're wondering if this is worth the price I say go for it!

As an electrical engineer, I am always looking for electronics to fix issues I have at home. I bought this because I moved my router and my old desk top did not have a WiFi card. This product is very simple to use and install. All I had to do was plug it and, let it install it's own software, and then follow the steps. Getting it to work was as simple as finding the network through it's program and typing in the the password for the network I selected. I have found that this little adapter has a much better range than a traditional laptop card and seemed to have improved speed as well. After comparing the two through a speed test website I found that I was right. The usb adapter beat out my WiFi card in my lap top. If you need to extend a network a bit or want a cheap easy way to add WiFi to an old computer then I would recommend this product.

If you look at the name you may be confused! But in reality it is a REATEK adapter and that name sys it all. Using the latest hardware and software gives you the best performance. If you want to take your laptop in the backyard the WiFi signal may not be strong enough. However using this adapter I was able to have steady communication even around 200 feet from my router. And my Internet provider gave me a cheap router only with the 2.4GHz band !

I initially gave this product only two stars because the first unit was dead on arrival. I am increasing my rating because the company immediately sent me a replacement which worked as soon as I re-installed the enclosed driver disk. The product is very compact and supplies great reception.

I bought this for my MacPro tower. It did not come with WiFi so I added this handy USB WiFi device with the extra antenna and it works great!

So I tried something....

My new-ish mac laptop has some trouble getting WiFi in a certain spot in the house (The bedroom of all places) so I inserted this just to try it out. It actually improved my wireless reception, even though my laptop has WiFi built in! Not bad!

The Software works great for OS-X 10.9 and below . I was surprised, considering just how strict Apple can be with their device drivers and 3rd party software. So far so good though. I really like this hardware.

What is also nice is that you can connect it to a USB extender cable and extend it away from the computer for added reception. When plugging this away from a computer, there is less electromagnetic interference. This is a really smart device and for the $$, it's a good bargain, too.
