It is our intent to offer you the best studio equipment for the price anywhere, and our Tabletop Photo Kit with two lights, two tents, eight backgrounds and tripod is easily the best value on the market. 2 PROFESSIONAL PHOTO TENTS: Light weight and proven easy to set up table top design, the soft light box utilizes a specially woven, heat resistant, 100% velour fabric, which delivers uniform illumination while eliminating harsh shadows and reflective glare. The cubes fold up for convenient storage and travel. We have include a 32" x 27.5" x 27.5" size tent and a 13.75" x 10.5" x 11.75" size tent with large front openings which makes taking studio like images simple. We have included at no charge, 4 extra large colored sheets for internal modeling (Red, Blue, Black and white) per tent. All attachments are made easy with the Velcro fastening system. The spring like frame enables the unit to be folded down and stored in the included zip case for very easy transport and storage. EIGHT BACKGROUNDS: Red, White, Blue, and black non reflective polyester fabric background provides for contrast with either dark or light objects, as well as creates an infinite field of depth. (2) HIGH OUTPUT LIGHTS WITH STANDS: Two, studio quality, high output 5500K Full Spectrum Compact Fluorescent Photo bulbs. The bulbs alone retail for more than $10 each. They provide excellent lighting & even color temperature for extra clarity. 30 watts and UL listed. Included with the lights are the ALUMINUM TRIPOD. The Tripod is fully adjustable. From the center of the bulb it can move 15" to 30" up and down. CAMERA TRIPOD/STAND: Fully adjustable, high quality, aluminum and steel camera stand eliminates jitters and blurs commonly experienced with hand held shots. First let me say I am an ebayer, sell on other online sites, and not part of this company. Nor am I getting paid to write a review other than that the company asked me if I would and offered to make a small contribution to a good charity if I did (I can choose among one among three that they offered). I think they are a new company and trying to build their business.

On to the review: I purchased this set after doing a lot of research. It was very hard to decide and took much longer than I would have liked, but that's just the way I do things! I came across this set and got the feeling it was a new company that was adding a product to an already saturated field. My thinking was that if they are going to enter into this saturated market then they are probably going to try really hard to make a great product. I think my theory bore out. Everything was packed neatly, everything was intact (no broken bulbs or missing parts), everything worked well (no funky screws or joints not fitting or meeting properly), and all the parts are of high quality. I chose this model because of the full spectrum lights, the price, and my theory.

The only little thing I wish was better, and appears to be an issue among all of these types of products, is the little cloths that line the tent inside. They have folds in them and you need to find a way to get those out otherwise they show up in pictures. I ironed mine and then stored them rolled up rather than folded. This seems to be working but still I wish there were some other solution. The white one can get dirty easily and I'm not sure it's so washable, being the type with the flocking on one side.
I have figured out other ways to cover the seams in the tent like using a white piece of paper or other white fabric.

On another but related note: I found when looking through the camera (which has been either an iphone or a little bloggie camera I have) I can see bands of light that roll across the screen vertically. I'm sure you photographers know what this is and if anyone can comment about how to eliminate it I bet that would be helpful to some of us.

And one other thing: I think it would be very useful if the company offered a little pamphlet on how to take quality pictures for the online sales user; I am having a heck of a time figuring the lighting out (in terms of angles and reflections, etc., etc.)! But somehow it still works out. :-)

In summary I do recommend this item if you are using it for similar needs.

Overall it cheaply made and in my opinion, overpriced… the small tent works well with the lighting. the large tent is downright terrible with the lights. The backgrounds need to be ironed or the lines show. For small product, the pictures are acceptable. For large, they are not. The instructions are downright TERRIBLE but its not hard to figure out.

I bought this kit to take product photos but found it to be awkward to use. I could be my inexperience but I don't want to fight with something to make it work. Here are a few of the things that made it not work for me:

1. Working with the cubes is like fighting an uncontrollable blob. They require a degree in origami to get them folded back up. Sorry, the directions just don't cut it. Maybe a video demonstration link in the instructions would help.

2. The stands for the lights are not tall or short enough...take your pick. I had to place them on chairs on either side of the table to get them at a decent height. Taller stands would work better or super short so you could set them on the table along with the cubes. Again, this could be my ignorance but a video would solve that problem.

3. The backdrops were folded and had creases. I noticed other reviewers also complaining about this. A simple solution would be to roll them and send them in a tube.

Other than that, the quality appeared to be good.

Great starter kit. Everything was in working condition out of the box, and the bulbs are still working a year and a half later. I do need to use more than just the 2 lights provided to get a nice bright background, though. You also need to iron the fabric that comes with it, but that's to be expected with anything that's been folded up. The boxes are easy to fold thin and store.

First of all, this item was delivered the very next day after I placed my order, so kudos on the fast shipping. That good service is not worth much, however, if the product is defective. The first thing I opened out of the box was the tripod, which I immediately noticed was broken. One of the plastic pieces was cracked clean in two. I did not buy this kit for the tripod, as I already own one, so I opened the rest of the equipment, somewhat suspicious now of the quality. My suspicions were well founded.

This kit comes with two lamps. The included bulbs for both lamps were burned out when they arrived. The tape sealing the bulb boxes was already cut open, indicating that this kit may have been purchased before, returned, and then re-sold to me as new. Not a happy camper. The light fixture in one of the lamps also is very loose and I'm afraid will break soon.

The light tents themselves seem OK. And the lamps work fine with new bulbs. But seeing as I paid for a kit that included a tripod and two functioning light bulbs I feel like this purchase was a pretty poor value for the money. I will be returning.

After about a month and a half one of the light stands just quit working... the bulbs are fine... just that one light stand is broken...
Will see about getting it replaced...

I would still recommend as a good starter kit... for the tents alone...
