This may not work for a Lenovo Thinkpad T440. (My research showed that it should be compatible, but it was not.) My laptop LCD screen was damaged (vertical lines on the screen, no problems with the connection) and I decided it would be a good time to upgrade the LCD. However, when I plugged this LCD in, it remained off. I couldn't tell if the LCD was incompatible or DOA, so I sent it back in order to exchange it. (The customer is responsible for return shipping, so I had to pay for return shipping.) East Coast told me that the screen appeared to work when they tested it, but sometimes a particular screen won't work with a particular laptop for whatever reason. They also confirmed that my laptop should be compatible with it. They did warn me that there was a chance the 2nd one wouldn't work and I would be responsible for returning it as well, but they saw no reason why it wouldn't work. So, they sent me a replacement. Once again, this one did not work, so I had to return it. (I was responsible for another payment shipment.) I ended up having to order one directly from Lenovo, which worked as soon as I plugged it in. Also, when they finally refunded me, they only refunded me 80% of the original payment due to their re-stocking fee. This entire process took over a month from me ordering the LCD to finally getting the refund. I sent the LCDs back within 2-3 days of receiving them both times. So, I am now out almost $50.00 (2 return shipments and re-stocking fees) from this purchase despite having returned it in working order, and then I had to order another LCD from Lenovo. Your situation may be different, but know this before ordering, especially if you have a Lenovo Thinkpad T440. I haven't write reviews in ages but I have to write this one.

I am impressed with East Coast LCDs. I ask them question prior buying from them and also before they ship the product. Then again, prior shipping the panel, they communicate with me again asking me to make sure this is the right panel for replacement (since I didn't tell them the brand and model of laptop I am planning to replace the panel).

I told them to go ahead to ship it to me as long as it is either B140HAN01.1, B140HAN01.2 or B140HAN01.3. They ship AU Optronics B140HAN01.3 which is one of the panel I want. I got the panel today. Replacing the old panel took less than 30 minutes.

This AU Optronics B140HAN01.3 panel looks amazing. It is IPS, 1080P, bright, great viewing angle with amazing color compare to the original panel which is 1366 x 768, washed out color and dim.

Once again, this is a great experience doing business with East Coast LCDs that I would like to share with everyone. Cheers.

and though the screen was in good condition it simply did not work when connected

The screen i received was not the one listed, i received the 1.1 model with a glossy finish, and though the screen was in good condition it simply did not work when connected. It would display an image but the image was horribly distorted and the picture ripped in half, completely unusable. I proceeded to set up return and have mailed the product back and everything but i have yet to receive my refund, it has been well over a week and a half now. I will update review if and when i recieve my refund.

Replacing the original Lenovo Y40 screen

I used this to replace the screen on my lenovo y40 and what a difference it made. I was skeptical but the second I turned on the new screen for the first time it was clear how much better it was .The viewing angles are great side-to-side but wash out quickly when viewed from above (which who does that anyway). The colors are also dramatically better, especially in games; specifically LOL. Everything just looks so much better and the screen is even easily kept clean and hard to smudge.

I got exactly what I ordered, no dead pixels or anything and it all came a whole week earlier which was amazing. I definitely recommend this screen

I received and installed the AU B140HAN01.2 panel to replace the LG one that came installed with my computer. The original LG panel had an awful vertical viewing angle, and ended up "blotching" and becoming brighter and discolored in some areas. In contrast, the AU panel's viewing angles are a thousand times better, and the visible contrast on the panel seems to be greater, making the colors richer.

Just after I received the panel, I received an email from the vendor warning me that the AU display is a High Gamut panel, and can only replace high gamut displays. While this may be important information, it might have been better had this warning been issued to people before they purchased the item.

If you're going to buy a display for your computer, just make sure you definitely do your research. If you have the Lenovo T440p with LG SPK1 (LEN40A3) display currently, this AU display should work for you.

Color is a bit unbalanced--rather heavy on the yellows. I had to search for a compatible ICC profile online to reduce the yellowish cast--it's still there in comparison to other displays but not noticeable now.

One dead pixel about 3/4 of the way over on the left side, in the middle vertically. Not stuck, but dead--tried various pixel repair software tools to see if I could revive it & no go.

Other: Screen is a B140HAN01.3 instead of .2, not a significant difference--most likely just a newer model.

If it wasn't for the dead pixel I would probably give this a 5--color calibration is often necessary, and is an issue that can be corrected. Dead pixels you're more or less stuck with and I would have appreciated better QA.

Excellent replacement for my dead screen

I own a Lenovo Y40-70. I recently destroyed my screen in a freak drop accident. I was desperate to try and get my screen fixed without sending it off to Lenovo and waiting a few weeks plus being out $200. I was recommended this screen as a good screen to replace and upgrade the broken screen all at once. I was a little bit skeptical because it wasn't the exact copy from the manufacturer but WOW am I impressed! It arrived a few days before it was supposed to and I was able to install it myself with no issue thanks to a handy YouTube video. I had my laptop running in 15 minutes. The screen looks beautiful compared to the old one. While it may not be the brightest screen, colors are very accurate and it looks much more like a screen worth the higher price tag of the original laptop. I would recommend this screen to anyone in the same situation as me

I ordered a B140HAN01.2 screen and received a 1.3 screen, in only one day- a day sooner than Amazon promised. A quick search on the internet did not reveal any significant differences between the 1.2 and 1.3 versions. I was desperate to get my Thinkpad T440S working again. It installed perfectly. I work with color a lot in my job and on initial boot the color profile was way off compared to my original screen, but I have a xrite i1 calibration device. After initial calibration the colors were great, maybe just slightly on the yellow side of neutral. The screen isn't super bright, but the colors are rich, but not oversaturated. The gradations of color have more depth than the original LCD and the backlighting is more even. Overall this is a nice upgrade from the original FHD screen that came with my T440s, which was also an IPS screen.
