Patchouli was my favorite fragrance in college...yes, it was the 60's... and this one comes closest to what I remember! It is that wood in earth smell...but I guess you have to smell it to fully appreciate it! You either love it or not...sort of like Opera!

I've tried several patchouli oils from Amazon, and this one is my favorite. I mix it in fractionated coconut oil for my beard, and it smells great. This is a strong smelling oil. I've found the other ones I've ordered to be too weak. This oil makes me happy.

This is close to the smell I was looking for from the 70's but not quite. But the closest so far. As far as I can tell the smell I am looking for is Indonesian aged dark patchouli oil. So I am going to try to age this Dark Patchouli and see if it will come even closer to the stuff I remember from the 70s. They say that patchouli oil is one of the few oils that gets better with age.
