Ann is a wonderful writer. When I read her books I feel like she is in the room, telling me her story. In "Catch that Look," her second memoir, she recounts her experiences with breast cancer. From the ominous lump she discovered one morning to healing from her mastectomy surgery, she is candid and heartfelt about what she went through. She shares exactly what it was like for her to go through surgery, chemo, and radiation therapy. Even though her diagnosis was serious, Ann maintained the sense of humor and optimism that I came to love about her in her first memoir, "No More Secs!" As a reader, I root for Ann and her husband, Jim, as they navigate the uncertain waters of life.

Catch That Look: Living, Laughing, & Loving Despite Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Kindle Edition

Sometimes, when that “other shoe” finally drops, it drops hard.
Ann couldn’t believe her luck. After years of living with the debilitating effects of multiple sclerosis, she was making the most of her miraculous remission; although a part of her was always on the alert, waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop. It wasn't long before an accidental discovery of a lump led to her life-threatening diagnosis – triple-negative breast cancer.
From a deeply personal perspective and told in riveting detail, Catch That Look explores the relationships between doctors and their patients, as well as between patients and their loved ones. With each new page, it becomes crystal clear that just as a picture is worth a thousand words, sometimes, when you catch it, a look speaks volumes.
From the author of No More Secs! Living, Laughing & Loving Despite Multiple Sclerosis, this follow-up memoir is one that Ann never thought she would have to write. It offers the reader passionate insight into the emotional and physical turmoil of learning you have a second life-altering disease – and what it means to be a true survivor.
For Ann and her husband, Jim, the diagnosis would test their “living, laughing, and loving despite” mindset. Would they pass this test?
With foreword by Diane Radford, MD, FACS, FRCSEd, surgical oncologist and breast surgeon at Mercy Clinic St. Louis Cancer & Breast Institute.

This is a fantastic book! Having had breast cancer myself, I can relate to many of the emotions and situations in this book. It is always nice to know that you are not alone. Don't get me wrong, this book has plenty to enjoy for people who have never suffered any type of illness. It is a family tale, a love story, and a testament to determination. Thank you to Ann for opening up and sharing such a personal story. Also, thanks to Jim for all that you have done to help Ann during her journey. I am looking forward to reading many Ann Pietrangelo fiction books in the future.

Going through Triple Negative Breast Cancer myself so found this very frank, uplifting and an enjoyable read. Hve recommended it to my best friend to give her a perspective on my experience.

This is a rich read for those going through breast cancer treatment, those about to, or those who already have. Especially relevant to those dealing with triple negative breast cancer, Pietrangelo's book is extreme smart, warm, loving and generous. She articulates her feelings, thoughts, impressions, realizations, etc. about what she is going through from diagnosis to after treatment. Along the way, she offers lots of good advice to fellow travelers, and also to loved ones sharing the journey and to medical professionals. It is heartwarming to read that her loving, supportive, concerned partner was with her every step of the way. In fact, it was their journey, not hers alone.

Brought back memories of my journey with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Having cancer is tough enough, but can you imagine having MS at the same time? Ann is a very courageous person who tells her story so well. You will pray she survives and goes on to see the Grandchildren she dreams of. A brave, brave woman with an incredibly supportive husband.

In her 50's Ann shares her courageous journey with Triple-Negative Breast Cancer. On top of that she was diagnosed with MS in her 40's. Ann shares her experiences dealing with finding the lump herself, doctors, MS, treatments, work, emotions, family, friends and just trying to live a normal life. An honest and uplifting book for many of us to learn a lot about life's bumps in the road. A wonderful read!

What do you say to someone who has just been told they have breast cancer? What do they say to themselves? Ann describes this journey with hope, inspiration and humor! Yes, humor.
It's a voyage beyond the doors of a cancer treatment center and into the heart, soul and of a person who in spite of also having MS, has a hunger for the life ahead. You cannot read this book and not be inspired by her story.
