I am not a heavy gamer but I do play some racing games like Asphalt 7 and 8 as well as Need for speed plus a few others. I mainly bought this card over a similar priced Nvidea card because I wanted Dual DVI, HDMI and Display port on my graphics card. I also wanted a good card to push around the pixels on my Dell U2713Hm 2560x1440 monitor. My last card was an Nvidea and I have to say I like the AMD card just as well. If you have a 1080p monitor this card will let you play any game with fairly high settings as long as you have a pretty relevent CPU like a intel core i3 4130 or amd fx4130. I watched a you tube video with this card up against a Nvidea Gforce 750ti playing Chrysis 3 and this card was just about neck and neck with the 750ti. It stayed close to even or 2 to the most 4 fps under the 750ti. The card in the video may have been the 2 gig version but even if it was this card is a very strong choice for your dollar and a lot of times the ram does not make that big of a difference depending on the game you are playing and the video cards processor. Some times the extra ram is overkill and does not give you better frame rates after the GPU is maxed out. This is a very good card and highly recommended by reviewers for a great mid range card ! I got a Gygabyte Motherboard to go with mine Gygabyte makes some great products !
Well I have had this card for a few months now and have not had a single problem with it. I am running it with a Core I-5 4570 , 16 gigs of Corsair ram and a Samsung 840 Evo ssd connected to a GIGABYTE GA-H87M-D3H LGA 1150 Intel H87 motherboard and powered by a Corsair CX500m and everything works together beautifully !
This would have been a great card, however, It doesn't work with vista, it works with xp and 7 but not vista. so I cant give a full review. but if you use vista go else where this card wont work.
Video driver stops working using Google Maps, viewing email, Google Earth or simply viewing three or four pdf files. With Google Earth you get a black screen almost immediately after opening. RMA'd card, just came back with same problem. Tried latest and several other drivers from AMD and Gigabyte with some worse than others but none fixed the problem. The card settings are out of the box settings. I've been fighting it since April. Oh, the MOBO graphics work fine. This ones a 0.
This video card did not work for me. I like the company so it's hard to give a bad review because I have used other things which have worked well. My experience was that in my PCI Express 2.0 Asus P8Z68-V LX motherboard it would not show anything. I had a blank screen but the machine booted. I tried lots of things including connecting remotely to see if I could get anything. I have spent time in the past on support calls and I did not wish to do this again. I should at least get a VGA screen and then be able to install the drivers. Having a black screen was very dissapointing.
This graphic card is awesome!!! For $120 you'll get a 1080p GPU that's just 2-3 fps below the GTX 750 Ti. Bad thing is you'll need a 80+ certified power supply with at least 430 watts and a six pin connector. Another thing you should consider is to have a proper CPU. My pc has a athlon 64 X2 4800+, an old AM2 processor that limits the performance of this card.
I'm getting very low fps on NFS Rivals, and I had to play Crysis 3 with textures in medium and everything else in low. That just means that a processor gives you around 25-30% of boost performance in game, and for newer GPUs you'll need at least an AM3+ processor, or the new Pentium G3258 which is a pretty good processor in the very budget end of the market.
I will upgrade to a FX-6100 sometime in the long future, and see how much boost performance I get from that CPU.
I didn't have any problems with drivers or the like. I just uninstalled the nvidia drivers (I had a GT 240), downloaded the latest Catalyst drivers and I was ready to go.
This is an excellent, quiet and cheap GPU which will get you to the new generation of game. Highly recommendable
Installation was super easy and had no issues! I'm constantly playing games on my computer and the difference from this card and the last one was night and day. I literally gawked at all the little details that I was able to see on my computer. I have a HP pavillion p6-2100. It was just barely able to fit into the case, but it's working beautifully. I do have a better power supply though as I don't believe the default supply would be able to handle this. For someone who really only plays World of Warcraft I'm super happy. I also like that it has dual output so I can start my project to get two monitors.
