The new HDMI specification is here and ready to turn your High Definition video experience into an Ultra High Definition experience. Of course, Monoprice is ready with the 18Gbps Ultra Slim High Speed HDMI Cables with RedMere Technology needed to make it all happen. The new HDMI specification adds several new features, including an over 75% increase in the bandwidth requirement, from 10.2Gbps to 18Gbps. These new High Speed HDMI Cables have been engineered to deliver at least the full 18Gbps data required by the new HDMI spec. The RedMere Technology allows these cables to support the full 18Gbps to longer distances, while using thinner conductors than ordinary cables. A typical passive High Speed HDMI Cable can reach a maximum length of 25 feet using 22AWG conductors, which results in a cable as thick as your index finger. On the other hand, High Speed HDMI Cables with RedMere Technology can deliver the full 18Gbps bandwidth to up to 60 feet using 28AWG conductors, which results in a cable about half the diameter. While existing High Speed HDMI Cables can handle each individual feature in the new spec, real-world video usage usually employs more than one HDMI feature at the same time. For example, your resolution at 1080p is one feature, 36-bit Deep Color is another, and DTS-HD Master Audio is another, all of which have significant bandwidth requirements. The difference between the older 10.2Gbps cables and these newer 18Gbps cables is the need to compromise in your choices versus no need for compromise.

I purchase HDMI cables on a regular basis, and these have become my go-to choice for a quality HDMI cable 15-feet (the longest in the 'ultra slim' series) or shorter. My favorite feature of these Monoprice/Redmere cables is how thin and lightweight they are - easy to route, low stress on HDMI ports, and slim connector design. The updated design includes a braided sheath and 18Gbps throughput, and I've tested these cables with a variety of signal formats including 720p, 1080i/p, and 4K UHD without any issues.

Purchased for iPhone 6S use when traveling. Most hotels I've stayed at allow access to their HDMI connections on the HDTV. Excellent quality, exceptionally slim cable with very small HDMI connector bodies is perfect for travel; small, light and because the protective nylon braided cable sleeve is stiff, it will not tangle. Works perfectly with my iPhone & apple's lightning to HDMI adapter in several HDTV sets I tried. IMHO this product is a very good value for the price given the high quality and small size. I am assuming that the aluminum connectors, sizable strain reliefs and protective nylon braid will stand up very well over time... if not, my past experience with Monoprice customer service has been excellent. Note that no special app was needed on the iPhone, I plugged in the apple adapter, then the adapter to this one-way orientation cable (TV end of cable must plug into TV) and the screen was instantly mirrored. Apps such as Netflix, videos, etc. showed up on the HDTV automatically when opened and all resulted in very good TV images. Lightning Digital AV Adapter for iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus / iPad Retina Display, mini, mini 2, mini 3, Air, Air 2 / iPod touch 5th Generation, 6th GenerationI purchased this 10 foot cable from Amazon at full price and I am not in any way connected to Monoprice.

This does not work at 3840x2160 @ 60Hz with a GTX 970 with HDMI 2.0. Samsung UHD TV 658550
Took hours of trouble shooting, but this cable was the problem. Swapped this Redmere for a KabelDirekt (20 feet) TOP Series HDMI and instantly got 60hz
This cable did work perfect with a GTX 780 at 3840x2160 @ 60hz with the 340 series drivers. They allowed 60hz at 2160 res over HDMI 1.4 at 4:2:0 chroma.
It does work at 2160 @30hz with the GTX 970.

Supports 4k without an issue, cable is extremely thin and flexible. Just remember to read the connectors before plugging into equipment as one side is source and other side is display / switcher/hub

My first impression was that it could not be possible to make an HDMI cable this thin, light, and durable. It is as thin and light as a phone cord, but as durable as much more expensive cables due to its braided sheath. As a road warrior space and weight are important to me, and this cable satisfies both. I have used this with my laptop (via ThunderBolt adapter) and with my iPad Mini Retina via HDMI adapter. Both worked on several TVs without issue.

Let me start off by saying these are the best cables I've ever owned..period, end of story. I've switched every HDMI cable in my house to one of these (I have about 10 now). First off, the Redmere technology allows the cable to be so thin and light, that I can string it through virtually any cable management system. I can maneuver them any way I need and I don't have to worry about thick cables pulling at the HDMI port on my TV and causing it to come loose. The build quality is good and I've never worried if I had to handle one a little rough to get it where I needed it to go. I've also never had one cable fail in over 2 years of use.

I have not noticed any loss of picture quality due to the Redemere technology, and I've used these on gaming systems, DVD players, Amazon Fire TVs, Apple TVs, etc. They support 3D, 4K, etc. without issue.

Forget those expensive cables the big box stores try and sell you. You have all you need right here...try one and compare it to that $150 cable and I bet you won't be sending this one back.

Runs 4K @ 60Hz flawlessly! Just be aware that the cable is directional (unlike most HDMI cables) and must have the source end plugged into the side labeled source and vice versa.

I paid $5.99 for this as a add-on item.

The length is perfect and the Redmere technology (that has chips on both end of the HDMI cable to reduce the cable cross sectional width thus making it more flexible) allows it to be used in tight spaces. It is nearly as thin as a typical USB cable.

Perfect for use behind a wall mounted TV, it is sized just right to reach the receiver from the back of the TV without causing a tangled mess of cabling.

The flexibility of the cable also helps in reducing strain on the HDMI ports on the devices.
