For external use ony. Avoid contact with eyes. Sterility not guaranteed if package is opened or damaged. Discard package if damaged.

Indications

For temporary external use to stop bleeding of superficial wounds, minor cuts and abrasions.

Ingredients

Kaolin

Directions

1. Open package and remove gauze. 2. Place gauze on wound and use it to apply pressure directly over the bleeding source. Keep applying pressure until bleeding stops. (More than one gauze may be required) 3. Continue to apply pressure for 3 minutes or until bleeding stops. 4. Leave gauze in place. Wrap to secure on the wound. If wound re-bleeds or serious bleeding occurs, apply a new gauze and keep applying pressure. Seek IMMEDIATE medical attention. After bleeding stops gently remove gauze. If gauze sticks to wound rinse with water to remove. Do not leave gauze on wound more than 24 hours.

Bought this and shoved it in my med pack. Yesterday I sliced my leg open and it was a good bleeder. Grabbed one of these, with my fingers I opened the wound, shoved this gauze in and counted to 100. Then I took the picture. It never bleed after and I even walked around for almost an hour before getting it stitched up. A bit expensive but your really not thinking about that when your bleeding extensively lol.

I was out riding yesterday, and without warning my bike tire hit a snag and down I went. The usual road rash to my right hip. But my right forearm came down on something sharp and it put a hole the size of the tip of my small finger in my arm near the elbow; and there was a great deal of bleeding.
After I collected my wits, I grabbed my QuikClot clotting gauze and applied it to the wound. Within a couple of minutes the bleeding was under control. I wrapped the gauze in place with some elastic tape and was able to make my way back home.
I will be buying more today......

I've never had to use it, but know 2 people who suffered severe cuts to their legs when out in the wild and could have benefited from this product. I'm just shy of 70 and have varicose veins that are knotted. I have had 3 blow out so far.
We live in an extremely rural setting, literally a 1/2 hour drive to a small city. We have to, out of necessity, keep a stocked first aid kit. It took a few to stop the first one. It is not gauze, it does not really absorb any blood it causes clotting. The first time it happened we put two on it and wrapped them in an elastic bandage before making the 1 hour trek to the hospital and my doctors office. By the time we got there it was completely stopped and after cleaning it up they let me go without doing anything else to it. The last two vein blowoiuts we handled at home.
