It is well written and very interesting, if a bit disturbing. Knowing that the British troops in Afghanistan worked under such difficult conditions, and were so undermanned was hard to read about. Many of the losses they suffered could have been prevented with proper support and troops numbers. The heroism , morale and resolve of the troops was truly unbelievable, especially considering the conditions under which they were forced to operate.
The book is fantastic and I recommend it to anyone. My only complaint is that either the author or the editor has no concept of collective nouns and used the plural every time he/she used one. For example, the author or editor constantly said "the company were, or the Taliban were", when they should have used "was" because
"company" refers to the collection of troops it contains, and "Taliban" refers to the group of sociopathic thugs it contains". But then, I see this everywhere today, this is not unusual. Incorrect, but not unusual.
