ULTRA EVERYTHING!

ULTRA EVERYTHING!
Upgraded from a 260x. This 280 has been able to handle ARMA III, DYING LIGHT, ELITE DANGEROUS, KILLING FLOOR 2 and more all on Ultra with no over heating. Even fit in my mid sized Coenus case. So far no complaints at all. Really liking the power to price ratio of AMD.Update: I've had the card for a couple months now. And it's been great. I'm running dual 27" monitors and this beast just hums right along.Pros:-Easy to install. Especially if you already have catalyst from a current or previous AMD card.-ALL my favorite games on ultra.-No heating issues what so ever. Staying at around 50c under load.-Quiet. Can't hear it over my cpu and case fans.-Fit my mid size case with out any issues. (your case may vary) It's 10.32" long and 4.41" deep.Cons:-I need to upgrade my FX 6300 to something faster to keep up. Not really a con.

I'll start off by saying that I love this card, I used this one to replace my older R7 260x which is still a capable card if your starting out on a budget and slowly building up to better parts such as myself. Now this card is quite a bit bigger than my older card that I was using and I have a medium size tower so there was quite a bit of cable management that I had to undergo to get this card to fit comfortably (it wasn't too much of a issue but worth noting at least). Now on the performance side of things, I know there are better cards on the market than this one with much better specs but in every game that I have played it's run almost flawlessly. Some of the games I tested are Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3, Mortal Kombat X, Star Swarm Stress Test, Sniper Elite V2, Dark Souls 2, Cities Skylines, and Skyrim all at max settings and nearly all the time I averaged around 50 to 60 FPS at all times, only slowing down at the most taxing of moments such as lots of units on screen and things of that nature. Overall I'm very impressed by this card and would recommend it to anybody that is looking to build a rig that is capable of playing whatever you throw at it, the card doesn't get hot at all from what I've noticed, it's silent and a quality card to have.

Update 4/29/2015: Card is still running perfectly, after a long gaming session I have noticed that this card does get a little loud at times but only when the air in the room has warmed up a bit. Other than that though I have had no issues so far, a excellent buy IMO.

great mid level card the price is really good for what you get you can play the witcher 3 the wild hunt on high to mid settings on it depends on what cpu you have combined with it i do recommend getting the 280x instead of the 280 but its a 100 dollar difference so its up to you but you do get a much better experience with it this card the 280 is much more powerful than whats in today's consoles the ps4 and xbone great if you are building a console killer pc ive had it since February of 2015 its august the 6th as of writing this. Game wise you can pretty much play most games very comfortable such as battle filed 3/4 on high settings no problem, bio shock 1/2/infinite no problem on high settings, borderlands 1/2/prequel no problem on high settings and off course it can run csgo,tf2 and stuff like that all maxed out those games are more cpu intensive than graphically anyway it can run pretty much any indie game like mercenary kings ,outland and castle crashers and stuff like that also it can run batman arkham city not arkham night the new batman game that was released broken i have no idea if it can run arkham knight probably so but the game is still being patched but it runs arkham city very smoothly on high settings id give this card a 5 star ratting i recommend it by the way my pc specs are for my cpu i have a amd fx 6300 overclocked at 4.0 ghz my gpu the amd r9 280 stock clock speed, 8 gb ram and a wireless network card but i recommend using a wired connection for online gaming

I used this as a single card dedicated GPU upgrade on a board that's running a AMD A10-7850K. I don't game that much myself but my Daughter and her friends do as well as my Nieces and Nephews when they visit. I originally tried to do a crossfire setup using the A10's r7 onboard graphics paired with an AMD R7 240 video card (as recommended by AMD). That wasn't cutting it. So when I saw this card and the price I decided to go ahead and give it a try.

Works great on my ASUS A88X-PRO board. I'm running a 750 watt Antec High Current PSU which drives this card with power to spare. Card is fairly quiet except at extreme usage then the fans can get noisy. With normal use not an issue. Using it to drive a Pavilion 25bw and a Pavilion 23bw IPS monitors and the card easily drives both at full native resolution. No complaints from the Daughter so it must run her games without issue. In my initial testing with 3DMark, Heaven, and Valley benchmarks, I had zero lockups or sluggish performance using the higher frame rate settings.

Make sure and visit AMD's site and download the latest Catalyst drivers. Using the performance tab in the Catalyst Control Center I'm able to OC this card to 1085 MHz GPU clock and 1450 MHz memory clock for a decent boost over stock. (NOTE: the OC worked fine for me but be advised that you can render your card useless with the wrong settings. So if you try any overclocking ** YOU DO SO AND PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK **) The card also supports UEFI fastboot BIOS via a switch on the card that lights up when UEFI is enabled. All cables you need to install it are included as well as a driver disc.

It's hard to find a R9 based card as nice as this with decent memory for this low of a price. So go for it.

I got this card mainly because it was on sale and I've always had good luck with Sapphire products being cool and quiet compared to the reference designs. This card was no different. I can't hear it in my well ventilated box, and playing Shadow of Mordor I've not seen it get above 120F/49C. The experience pretty much mirrors what Tweaktown said about it, but they reviewed this card at $300. At $190 it was an irresistible upgrade to my Sapphire 4870 which refused to die. The benchmark with default settings in SoM show about 57 FPS, and up to 59 depending on how I set vegetation and detail distance. Honestly, I'm having way too much fun playing the game to care to try to up my FPS any further. I have an 8320 and with this card I get at best 50% CPU usage at best, which is a very good thing. Point is, I was going to buy an aftermarket graphics cooler bracket from NXT but I really don't have to. Your mileage may vary.

One thing to keep in mind is that the fans on this card do a great job of blowing the heat off of the card and INTO the PC case. Like all other high performance graphics cards you need to deal with that heat by keeping the case well ventilated.
