I do a lot of voice overs for professional clients and for a TV series, and was really unhappy with my AKG mic. I just couldn't EQ it to sound natural. Straight out of the box this WA-47jr was amazing. So natural in sound, no noise floor whatsoever. I'm using on Cardiod pattern for voiceovers and it's incredible. I just drop a little bottom end off in the EQ since my voice tends to be deep. throw some basic compression on it and its awesome. For $299 this mic can't be beat.
When I first saw the brand name, Warm Audio, I chuckled thinking sarcastically, I bet their mics have a warm sound. I wanted a high quality multi-pattern large diaphragm condenser mic from a reputable maker at a relatively affordable price. Everyone knows AKG, so I went with a P420 ($199). It is well built and the price was right for my budget/needs. After a few weeks, the sound quality was becoming a bit nasal then I heard a few cracks/pops in playback. No time to waste because of an important recording project, so after searching around, the mic that kept coming up was the Warm Audio WA 47jr. At $299, it is slightly more than I wanted to spend but the next best mic was an AKG C214 ($349). The more I read about Warm Audio and their philosophy, I closed my eyes and clicked 'Buy Now'. No regrets. The WA 47jr is built like a tank, quality materials, looks sharp but best of all, the sound is sheer like silk, clean like mountain spring water and no noise like a chess match. There's nothing 'JR' about it. It's got heft, so don't use a cheap mic boom. I'm recording grand piano, violin and cello set on figure of 8 combined with a ribbon mic for stereo A/B and X/Y setup. Many have commented that it's a great mic for the price. It's a great mic period. Speaking of price, as I'm writing this review, it's on sale for $249 on Amazon, which is a steal. The regular $299 is still a bargain for the quality of mic and good value, which includes a high quality custom shock mount & extra bands. I wish it came with a case but I store it in the brand box, which has good insulation/foam. Warm Audio doesn't make cheap copies of legendary mics. They make high quality replicas using boutique materials to produce mics that are affordable, especially for musicians and engineers who may not want to spend $1000's. This is no 'budget' mic. Highly recommend.
If you’re wanting to upgrade without breaking over $1K, this mic is for you. It’s got hardly ANY noise and is super clean when recording! Definitely do not regret purchasing it
Felt compelled here, Im in the middle of a home recording project that I thought my high end dynamic mic would work out for but was not producing the desired results. Did not want to spend what I know a truly great studio mic costs, so I had to gamble in the sub $500 range and hope for the best. As soon as this arrived today, plugged it in, headphones, sing a line aaaaaand "hell yes", nailed it. Crisp, clean, neutral. From demo quality to studio quality for 3 bills. Can do anything with just one, but I will probably get one more down the road for xy acoustic instrument miking situations.
Absolutely love this microphone, you can definitely hear the quality difference. It sounds way more clear which means you will have to put less EQ and other presets. Can’t wait to see what I produce with this microphone.
This mic has made my music so much easier to mix. I used to have a crappy mic & saved up for this and it’s been the biggest game changer. The sound is crisp & clear. I barley have to do much work on the vocals after recording, it just sounds great automatically and anything else is the cherry on top!
Not a bad mic. Comes with a padding and parttern changing options. Not necessary but cool. Really sturdy. The hardware needs some work though. You got a heavy sturdy mic and the shockmount isnt holding it up properly. Bad clasps.
Tested it against the rhode and i have to say not beating it out. It is on par. Rhode nt1 wins. Lower price, awesome pop filter, and good shockmount.
I was pleasantly surprised at the definition and clarity for this value priced microphone. Warm has done a good job of making a really versatile 3 polar pattern mic. Vocals, Kick drum, room mic, electric guitar cabinets and even acoustic guitars sound really good through the WA-47 Jr. Plenty of detail for vocals foreground and background. Comes with shock mount including spare rubber bands, hard mount, mic stand adapters and a storage pouch, though I keep mine in the heavy duty box all this arrived with. Very happy with my purchase and think that your mic locker could use one, for sure.

I recently bought this and after few recordings of different types, I found it better than other microphone in this range as its not that bright. 8 figure works well. On Cardioid it's fantastic and not that extra bright but warm. Just required to EQ and good compressor settings and that's it. The sound is very good. If you know your work well, this can be your best microphone in this range.
