Extremely Fun Game All Around!

I love so many things about this game, where do I begin.
I love that there's no annoying boys on headsets yelling rude words!
I love fighting with paint!
I love the randomized paint colors!
I love being a squid or a kid!
I love the rad outfits.
I love the pictures people draw for their character display.
I love logging on and playing with people all over the world (lots of Japanese people late at night, and it's fun to learn hiragana and katakana and try to read their names)!
My cousin and I (both 25yr+) and I handed off the controller to beat the whole single player campaign, and to play multiplayer online.
We used 2 controllers to try to smash each other in the dojo!
I played this with my 11yo nephew, too.
I've put more hours into this game than any game I've ever purchased. I plan on buying a Nintendo Switch just to get the 2nd one. I am not a big gamer, but I am big-time into this game!!! Love it!!!!!

Physical copy: Game came on time. It was brand new and no sort of damage or scratches at all. Awesome

Gameplay: Fast paced and very strategy-based at higher levels on multiplayer, but it also goes easier on newer players. It's fun story mode even prepared players for multiplayer by having stages with varied enemies and obstacles to help a player learn skills to make the most out of the game. Unlike many multiplayer shooters where people go off on their own to shoot players one on one, Splatoon is a game that's not focused on shooting the enemy (although possible), and so it pushes for teamwork because a team that works together tends to have an easier time winning. The swimming technique also gives the game a new level of stealth.

Overall, the colorful and less-violent gameplay may drive some gamers away after thinking its an "easy kiddy game", but Splatoon is a unique shooter that has a lot of strategies and options for you and your team to work with.

This is really just a one player game unless you know others who own the game on other WiiU systems. I bought this when I read that it could be played by 4-8 people in the 4v4 mode. It only offers a 2player 1v1 mode, but that still means that I have 3 people sitting out at a time. I also have had all sorts of trouble connecting to the online content where the real game is meant to be played. The 1 player story seems too easy and does not even justify the price I paid for the used version. Now I know why the used version was less than half the cost of the new game.

My son plays this game religiously. He is 4 years old and plays it online. I often wonder, when he schools someone in Turf War, or splats (kills) them in the process, if they have any idea that they just got housed by an old baby/young child. Also, the Roller weapon is OP.

An amazing game that mixes action and creativity in a way never before seen in a shooter-styled game. While chatting with friends is a feature I wish they would add, this game lacks few other features and looks and works amazing and has incredible online speed. Very rarely so I experience lag or connection issues as long as I have a wired or strong wireless connection, and the number of tactical options this game offers in terms of gear and strategy is impressive. Honestly this game is almost a console seller by itself, and if you own a Wii U and like shooter games there's no reason to not give this brand new series a chance. There is already a good amount of content in it, and much more is coming out over the next few to several months!

As I am sure you have heard, this is the best shooting game since James Bond. I like the fact that it is colorful and there are a ton of different weapons that have different qualities and sub weapons that are neat. I wish I could say this game will stay for a long time, but I have concerns that once a new system comes out (which will be soon) the online play will lose its appeal as there will be less and less people online. The one player play is awesome, I wish they had a lot more 1 player levels. The amiibo levels are good too, you have to have the amiibo for the content unlock. It also gets you used to the main 3 types of weapons. I wish there were not so many costumes, it is a bit overwhelming trying to find the right combo of what you need as far as abilities go. I wish you could spend money to buy certain abilities but I know people like to dress their inkling in cool clothes too. The mini games are a plus, keeps you busy while waiting online for sure, but they get old after awhile, especially when you get to the same level over and over and keep dying or stuck. Overall, I would tell you to buy this game in a heartbeat. It is very fun and definitely worth the $60 I payed when it first came out.

Amazing fresh take on the shooter genre! This is an amazingly fun game. First off, the game is not perfect. The glaring omissions are two-player online, and voice chat. Now with that out of the way. There's a good single player experience. About 5-8 hours depending on how you play it, searching for everything(hidden scrolls) and maxing out your equipment, or just rushing through it. There's plenty of unique ideas and challenges in the single player.
2 player is a one on one, shoot as many balloons and score as many points as possible type game.
Then there's the online multiplayer. Many modes to choose from, and more are being added on a regular basis. Play with friends, or jump into random matches. Each round is 3 minutes and the main objective is to cover as much horizontal space with your paint as possible. Every nook and cranny counts, as there will be time you literally win or lose by .1. You don't need to be a CoD vet or Halo master chief to enjoy it and be good at it. This is a great family friendly shooter and any average Joe can paint with the best of them! Highly recommended!
