LOVED Delaney & Bonnie back in the day.Still do. every album they recorded was always better than what their friends were releasing in that same time span. "To Bonnie From Delaney ' wasn't their best studio lp,that honor goes to "Accept No Substitute." But is damn close. I was overjoyed that it finally made it to CD, but I'm wondering what generation tape was used by Wounded Bird. The majority of it is really really good.But from "Miss Ann' on..the quality od the sound drops a bit. Not as in your face as the original vinyl still own.

Had this on vinyl when it came out in the early 70's I was happy to see it was available on Wounded Bird Records cd. This is great music from the great Delaney and Bonnie and their great band of musicians. They were the best at soulful, blues, gospel rock and roll.
Some of the best stars in the music business got on stage or in the studio with this great duo.

If you are a fan this is a rare release to pick up to add to your collection. Get it now for under ten bucks before it goes out of print. Great music, and great sound quality.

It is recorded so well that I thought I was listening to one of my SACDs, the quality is superb and a must buy for anyone interested in roots based rock and roll.

Backed by a stellar array of musicians, including Duane Allman, Jim Gordon, Bobby Whitlock, Jim Dickinson and Little Richard, they laid down an irresistible blend of soul-based rhythm & blues rock. Both Delaney and Bonnie are in good voice, and on 'The Love of My Man' Bonnie shows why she was compared to Janis Joplin. But that's not the only highlight; every song is excellent on what has to be one of their very best albums. Highly recommended.

Bonnie's reading of "The Love of My Man" is pure soul while the collaboration with Little Richard (on his "Miss Ann") rocks hard. This southern rock tinged album is a delight from start to finish with a mixture of originals and well-chosen covers, including the acoustic medley "Come On In My Kitchen" >"Mama, He Treats Your Daughter Mean" >"Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad" & "Living on the Open Road" which features Duane Allman as a highlight, and has appeared on a few compilations over the years.

This album has been long out of print but thank you to Wounded Bird for this 2016 re-issue. The sound quality is good and honest with a bit of tape hiss here and there, showing that this has not been no-noised at least. The Dynamics are good though this is mastered quite loud, but at least it’s in print for a while at least.
