This is the first fight stick I've ever owned. With numerous great fighters still on PS3, I wanted one that could be used for next and last gen systems. There's a slider to set which system you're connecting to, which you do via USB cable (it's ten feet long, so no extension necessary). It's quite large, yet ideal to sit on my lap without moving around or feeling too heavy.

The stick and button presses are very precise, at least it seems that way. I'm of very average skill at fighters and wanted something that would let me pull off quarter and half circle motions better than a d-pad, and this stick delivers. My success rate with such moves skyrocketed immediately. The buttons are spaced well and very comfortable. This is the first time I've ever had a gated stick, this one being a square gate (there's a slight sensation when rotating across the diagonal corners as well as a clicking noise which the game sound mostly drowns out). Thankfully the stick is very quick to return to center on release, so double tapping a direction to dash or dodge is much smoother than I anticipated.

This stick isn't going to turn a bad player into a great one, but it definitely reduces the frequency of blown special attacks. It has the old school arcade feel with the convenience of reassigning buttons, turbo, and a sturdy, quality build. I expect it to last as long as my PS4 does and it makes me eager to take on more fighting games.

It did not age well. Would recommend another stick to anyone who is looking for one. Not the easiest to customize or to look at.

    Pros:
    -It's compatible with the PS4

    Cons:
    -No jack input for Headset
    -Buttons are sticking

The only reason I purchased this stick over the Eightarc is because I wanted a stick that would have compatibility with the Playstation 4. I've already decided that I will mod it with better quality parts from Focus Attack, definitely will switch out the buttons and ball top first..

A nice stick that does what it is supposed to do. I am a big fan of the Hayabusa joystick, and prefer it to my old standby, the Sanwa JLF joystick. However, the Kuro buttons squeak and don't feel as good as the Sanwa OBSF buttons. With heavy use, the Kuro buttons are starting to quiet down, and they are very responsive, so they have both good and bad points. The casing of this stick is too light for my tastes. I prefer cases to contain lots of metal parts, but this case is mostly plastic. Overall I like this product, but I should have waited for some of the sticks Hori are currently releasing, or for a Madcatz TE2, and modded it with a Hayabusa joystick

Overall amazing Fight Stick well worth the money. I've had 3 MadCatz sticks in the past and they have all been great. First time buying a hori stick and it is definitely a solid build.

    Pros:
Easy switch to switch between ps3 and ps4.
Standard artwork gives it a nice simple/sleek design.
    Not going to break easily.
Fight Stick itself is good. Noticeable difference between the hayabusa and the standard JLF. Both joysticks are great and basically boils down to preference. The Hayabusa joystick is very fast and responsive.
Easy Mod for Joystick replacement or sanwa button swapping. Sanwa buttons snap right in.

Cons: My only real complaint are the Kuro buttons. They are not as bad as the old SE fight stick that was sold by MadCatz, but they tend to stick every now and again.

Overall Thoughts: My advice would be to buy the Hayabusa, and swap the buttons with 30mm Sanwa buttons. You can get just the buttons from websites like FocusAttack.com and ArcadeShock.com both websites are great and have fast shipping on items. I think one of them offers free shipping if you just get 6 buttons, not sure which.

Either way you'll be spending $150 for the stick plus maybe 16 bucks on buttons and still are able to make out with an amazing fightstick and still about $20-$30 than the madcatz PS4 alternative.

This is a great arcade stick, not just for it's funtionality as a dual-booting stick for PS3 and PS4, but just simply in its construction, and components. The RAP V4 uses a case similar to many other Hori arcade sticks, and while I have heard complaints about wrist room, I find that it works perfectly for me, as I rest my palm on the flat edge facing me, and have my hand naturally curl toward the buttons. I do have relatively large hands, though not wide, and with long fingers. I have personally played on other cases from Qanba and Madcatz, and can appreciate the feel of a large flat surface as well, but it feels just as natural to me to rest my hand against the edge of this stick. All parts are fantastic. I have heard many people state that they have grown to prefer the Hayabusa to the Sanwa JLF, and while I don't feel I have spent a significant time with both sticks to make a judgement as to what's better, I can say that the quality of the Hayabusa is certainly not in question to me, and any argument made for this point would be based on preference, and not technical superiority. I have grown to love the Hayabusa since using it, and would recommend anyone into arcade sticks to at least give it a try. The Kuro buttons are another matter of preference. They are just as sensitive as Sanwa's OBSF buttons, but have a couple differences. The size of the actual plunger is larger, while the rim is a little thinner, and it also rests a little lower than the OBSF plunger, so the range of motion from fully up to fully down is smaller. The ammount of force necessary to activate is almost identical though, so once again, this comes down to preference more than quality.
So far, I have definitely had nothing but good experience from this stick, and can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a good stick for the PS3/4. Unfortunately, I recently found out that this stick has been discontinued, so it will likely be much harder to find in the near future, but if you can find one, I would definitely suggest checking it out, and hopefully sometime soon Hori will release something akin to this stick.
