Excellent headset for use on the go, awkward to charge properly, takes much abuse before eventually failing

I was fairly confident when I bought this that it would serve my purpose as I had seen others using the previous model. It exceeded my expectations to a point. I found this to be a comfortable headset with excellent volume capability and while I can't attest to it's sound reproduction's accuracy (as I am more or less tone deaf), it sounded fine to me. Once I learned how to charge it properly (more on that below), it's battery never failed me during my 10-hour work days, during which I found it quite useful as I didn't have to futz around with the wires of the headsets I was using previously and could listen to music without impairing my ability to hear other things (as long as I kept to reasonable volume levels). By comparison, the problems that I have with this product are minor and quibbling: after 4500 hours of use, the oils in my hair degraded the adhesive that hold in the rubber strip covering the cable that connects the two sides of the device, causing that rubber piece to slowly detach from the body of the device. The Bluez 2s also screams "welcome to blues 2s" every time you turn it on at a volume that can be heard from several feet away from the transducer, and is unfortunately only able to connect to one device at a time. I feel that a product like this would be so much more convenient if it were possible to just poke the button and ask the supposed on board assistant to connect to another device, but if we're being honest that's not really a problem with the device; it's just a feature request. More problematic is charging this device properly: The device charges through a micro-USB B port underneath a rubber cover on the right side of the device and comes with an included USB A to Micro-B cable, but it's actually only rated for 150 mA at 5 V. The problem is that if you charge it at 1000 mA, which is a fairly typical rating for a USB charger, the device's battery doesn't last as long. In fact, I couldn't find a single USB charger or port in my home that was rated for delivery of less than 500 mA, making charging the device somewhat problematic. If a manufacturer is going to produce a device with such exacting power requirements that doesn't perform to spec when charged at typical speeds, I think they should include a compatible charger. But I digress. This product has so far provided a superior listening experience for 3 times as long as the half-as-expensive wired headsets I was using previously, and I expect the electronics in it could continue for another 4500 hours with no problem, if I can stand to deal with the back peeling off, which I think I can. I may even decide to go with one of Aftershokz' higher end models for my next purchase.

Update: The device did indeed perform well for another several thousand hours before it eventually lost it's bluetooth connection, never to connect again. Again, I'd like to point out that this is after 8 months of very heavy use. This device clearly has room for improvement, both in terms of features and in terms of durability, but performs quite well for it's price point.

Great headphones for workout - misleading design

My wife bought these for exercise and decided against them. I already had some for that task, but decided to try them out. First, the bone conducting I'm uncertain on. It seems to me that you have little speakers that point towards your ears and bass vibration that you can feel. If you pull them away from your head, not contacting your "bone", you can still hear the sound. Turned up loud everyone can hear the music.

The good parts - it is a very sealed up design, so my sweaty self does not seem to be destroying the device. Its batteries last me for over three almost hour long runs, and I'd guess maybe 3 hours play time. I will never get to do the max test on that. They charge quick.

Rapped around your head from the back, hanging over your ears will be a different experience for all the head shapes and sizes out there. It was okay for me, and at times the "clamp down" at my ears feels pressure at the end of a run. I think it would be uncomfortable for longer. Even headachy. I also needed to leave my phone in my right pocket to not have the blue tooth cut out sometimes. It is common to have to find the right mix of distance and signal through your body - at least for me it has been. Some things seem to have their antenna not centered.

I'm impressed. I had tried another set of bone conduction headphones in the past and liked them, but they blew out within a few months (one side started blaring a high pitched and horrible sound!). I went a few weeks without bone conduction headphones and realized how much I truly enjoyed having them.

I researched and checked reviews and went digging through information from several manufacturers until I landed right here on the AfterShokz Bluez 2S. These are fantastic. I walk, jog, run, take the dog out, go to the store, whatever I regularly want to do with headphones and I have amazing sound quality from these. They've lasted for several months with no problems and I'm thrilled with the quality.

If you're looking at bone conduction headphones hopefully you're aware, but if not, you will NOT get the same exact sound you get with headphones like in ear or on/over ear. These leave your ears uncovered and unplugged. That's what is so great about them, at least to me. You get great quality (even when talking on the phone!) sound (albeit, different than other headphones as mentioned) but your ears are still open to hear people, cars, traffic, whatever is going on around you. For me this is a huge concern as I like to listen to music while I exercise but I also like to not get run over or anything (especially at night).

Sweat and rain have not been an issue, they really are water resistant as advertised. I wear mine with glasses and a hat and there's no problem with the fit. I also wear an XL sized hat so you are aware that I have a larger head and have no problems with the fit. They're comfortable and don't irritate my face with glasses on either.

They use a standard micro USB cable to charge up, and the battery lasts a good while even after several months of constant use. I've recommended this exact pair to friends and family, and I'll recommend them to you too.

I bought these at regular price + added a warranty for several years including accidental damages. I love these headphones!

I wore them at work for a full 8 hour shift listing to an Audio Book battery lasted the whole time with out charging. They were very comfortable i barely noticed I was wearing them.
The unit was very easy to pair just turn it on and scan for new Bluetooth devise. The volume rocker and power button is in a good place and can easily used when the unit is in use.Also the phone answer button functions as a play pause button for most apps i tested it with (You Tube, netflix, google video, power amp) it did not work with Google books TTS function. When used at a lower volume level you and in a quiet environment you can hear everything around you and your music very clearly. If you turn the volume up, you will lose some of the audio from environment around you such as soft talking, foot steps but louder more important noises like vehicles, doors opening, children are clearly heard. on louder volume usage, since the pads vibrate to generate sound, you will feel buzzing (not a big deal once you get use to them). For the purpose i got theses head phones they have been perfect. So if you want a pair for head phones that are wireless, have decient sound quality for music, perfect for audio books and you tube videos, and being able to take phone calls from it all while being able to hear everything around you. Then i would say buy theses.

I had high hopes for this headset but due to the physical issues I had to return the product.

PROS
- Awesome look
- Bluetooth setup was ultra easy
- Sound quality was okay
- Amazing if you are a jogger as the headphone do not move

CONS
- The band tension caused a headache within 30 minutes of use (though I do have a fatter head)
- The sound escape from the headphones was too much to use in an office environment unless you have the sound level set really low

I would have kept these headphones is the band tension was better. I could have overcome the office issue by keeping my music quieter. I so wanted to keep these but I may consider a closed ear headphone again.
