Broke the first time we tried it
Very difficult to install, after we installed it though it slid on the floor. We tightened it up more tried to force the door open and it broke allowing access to the classroom. Great idea, just not sturdy enough or easy enough to use in an emergency

    I am getting ready to travel overseas and wanted to bring an extra lock for the hotels. I purchased 2 different styles/designs. The first on fits into the notch on the door where the door handle connects to the door frame. It is nice and works in my house but since I am not sure of the design or sizing of the door handles abroad, just to be safe I wanted a 2nd one that did not rely so much on the door handles.

    This lock feels heavy, sturdy, and well built.

    This looks like it will fit any door. There is a lip at the bottom of the straight piece with a rough finish on it. You slip that lip under the door. The rough finish grabs on to the bottom of the door. While holding that in place, you turn a screw knob located right above the silver stopper at the bottom of the arm. You keep turning, which tightens the foot onto the floor. Once it is nice and snug, you are done.

    I tested it at home and it works great. I think the door would have to be busted down before this lock would fail.

    Bought for a side door I rarely use, that has a glass window preventing the use of a standard deadbolt. This item works really good. The base of mine is on a wooden floor, so it does slide a little bit, if the door it really forced. It would take a bit of time and a lot of noise to bust through this, so I'd say it's effective. If you are putting yours on carpet, I don't think it would budge at all. High quality, so I think it's worth the price. I'd recommend this to others.

    This had no clearance for either entrance doors. I thought it would be nice to have a door slightly ajar to let fresh air in without having it be pushed open by someone outside. I was mistaken. I’m pretty petite but work out albeit it not CrossFit style. I can push it from the outside. I haven’t had my husband try it as he can breach any door. The one thing that has me concerned is the winding mechanism/nut to screw it down to the floor and flip a level. The winding is EXTREMELY TEDIOUS. I had to sit down on the ground for several minutes to get it to unlock. It will move if the door is pushed with force but a bit at a time however it is still stuck to the floor so it slides. IF there is an emergency fr medical to a fire - this will greatly impede the crucial minutes necessary to GET OUT for a lay person, elderly, or child. I know emergency personnel such as fire fighters or police could get it open but that is besides the point. I did not use this in an inside door as that was not my purpose in getting it. This is a gimmick that might as well be as seen on tv crap. It took 13 yrs, but I finally found an item to return to amazon. DO NOT GET this for your own safety! Yes, we want to keep the “bad guy” out, but are you ready to risk your lives if there is a fire or need to run to a hospital? The seller asked me for a review on why I returned it and here it is.

    I ordered two of these, one for a back door and one for a front door. It works great on the front door, creates a very secure door jam between the door and hardwood. However, it does not work on my back door due to the door not being evenly hung as well as the carpet/flooring not providing study support for the door jam set-up. Just having the one at my front door helps ease my mind since I am living alone. Even though I am only using one of the door jams, I plan on keeping both since they should come in handy for the future if I plan on moving. In addition, the door jams were neatly packaged and came in nice draw-string baggies, perfect for taking them on the go if needed.

    I was surprised at how well this product was packaged. The box looks nice and it comes with a really nice black velvet bag with drawstring.
    The door jammer itself looks very nice and durable. It's really simple to set up, but in case you need help it comes with instructions.

    Having this with me makes me feel a lot safer when someone else such as a hotel has keys to my door. It's inexpensive, well built and functions as described.

    Great concept, but it broke the first time we used it with a small push on the door. The small piece of metal the slips under the door snapped off. The quality of the metal is quite poor, but it is lite and portable. I think it would work better on doors with small (less than 1/4") gaps.

    L'appareil est simple et rapide à mettre en place, je l'ai testé sur plusieurs type de porte (simple d'intérieur, porte d'entrée pvc, porte d'hôtel) et ça fonctionne très bien.

    L'avantage c'est que la partie qui se glisse sous la porte n'est pas très longue, donc même si il y a un butoir ça n'est pas problématique.

    Pas plus grand qu'un smartphone ça se transport très facile (ultra léger en prime).

    Ca reste quelque chose pour bloquer une porte de manière simple, ça n'est pas en remplacement d'une serrure par exemple, donc la solidité est relatif, nul doute qu'après quelques coup de pied/d'épaule l'engin finisse par céder. Je vois ça pour bloquer les porte d'hôtel (entrée ou douche), ça évite les ouvertures accidentel.

    Maintenant 28€ je trouve que c'est un peu cher pour ce que c'est, mais on va dire que c'est le prix de la tranquillité d'esprit.

    Ok so had a bit of a faff to get it under the door and decided to remove the door plate and cut a gap in it but once we got it under the door it definitely does the job. So, if anyone tried to drill your locks to open your door this definitely won’t budge. I don’t know how it would hold up to a battering ram but just pushing against it with a bit of force to open a door then it held its own certainly did the job! Now going to order one for the back door!
    Hubby did really push against it quite a few times and the door was jammed solid, I don’t know how it would hold up if it was a continual, sustained force though, but for sure I now have peace of mind that no one can get the door open if the lock got drilled. I’m happy with it and would fully recommend it. Hope if this review generated a number of orders that maybe the seller would give me discount on the one I’m just about to purchase for the back door. This is the cheapest one on Amazon but looks exactly like the others so I’m happy with the price too, I think it’s a fair price!
