I am not a stylist, so this is not professional advice, just my experience. I LOVE this oil! I use it before bleaching for protection and leave it in while bleaching. I also use it as a deep-conditioner about once a week, working it into my hair and leaving it for a few hours (any longer and excess protein in the hair can actually CAUSE breakage). My horribly damaged, bleached hair drinks this stuff in and looks soft and shiny afterward! It's not magic....the damage is still there...but appearance and feel are greatly improved. I recommend a long spoon for digging out the bottom of the jar ;)

Of the many coconut oils this is by far the best i have put on my body as a moisturizer. It is silky velvet nice to touch. It mixes well with essentials oils to fragrance. I have cooked with it but prefer to use it as health regime. I have auto immune that attacks all my organs including my skin. So i can only use very healthy clean products that my body will accept. I love this brand.

First I want to compliment the company. I had one jar that came defective, so I put in a request for a return, and their replacement was there by 8:30 the next morning. Awesome service!
I've used the coconut oil a couple times now and I don't taste coconut which is great because I hate that flavor. It does not smell or taste like coconut.
My only complaint is the jar is indented, so I can't get the lid back on. But that has nothing to do with the quality of the oil or the service.

No smell. Works great! I use it as a base for lemon eucalyptus oil (mosquito repellant), and for cooking (high smoke point). ONE NOTE: On the Native website, it states the yellow color is natural for unrefined, unbleached coconut oil, but it's not mentioned on the Amazon page. Some Google searches show yellow color as being rancid oil (though Nutiva's intel is at top of Google search). Some buyers might accidentally toss it. Might be a good idea to let the potential buyer know in advance.

Otherwise, fantastic product.

When I was researching natural products for itching relief for cats, not due to fleas and ticks. I found a few people say that they use coconut oil. I then saw there's two kinds of oil. Refined which has no coconut smell and no Coconut taste. I didn't want my cats to reject it if it had a smell. It came in the mail yes it was liquid and since I am in Florida it stays a bit liquid. Not a problem because I can put it in the fridge and it goes solid. It doesn't have a smell. It doesn't have flavor. It's great for moisturizer and for hair. When I started to give it to my cats I was skeptical. I only give them a small amount. Within a few days I saw results of my cats not being so itchy! My one cat who had bumps on her legs and red spots on her belly was completely healed! Coconut oil helps! If you received unrefined oil I'm sure it was a simple mistake. I ordered this and I got what was in the description.

I ordered this coconut oil for moisturizing my baby's scalp. The product works well for that, my baby has no reactions to it. His hair is growing fuller and is soft after the oil has soaked in, also works for baby's skin. If you want to use this for your hair, be warned that it will leave your hair looking oily. Do not use too much on your hair unless you are doing an overnight or staying-in treatment. Didn't cook with it, but the product is pretty plain when it comes to scent and flavor so it will not taste like you are cooking with hair products. One con I found was that the plastic bottle does not seal tightly enough, so I did have to put the bottle in the fridge when not in use so that any melted oil did not get on my table. You can pour some oil into another jar if you'd like.

-great moisturizer.

I actually bought three of these containers for three different uses. One we keep in our bathroom for adding to the bath, another stays in my makeup drawer to use as moisturizer and the third we use in our kitchen for cooking.

This is by far my favorite brand of coconut oil that we have tried. I highly recommend this.

This is my only coconut oil I use. The Nutiva steam refined coconut oil. It is the best one. Other brands sometimes have a burnt smell. But the Nutiva one is always great. I am on a ketogenic diet, so I use coconut oil every day in my food. I also use this for my skin as lotion. It’s fabulous. I put it in my hair too as a conditioner.
