Very happy with my new Kindle Voyager cover! Looks expensive - my device fits snugly into cover and buttons are accessible!! Was not disappointed at all! More than expected!!
I wanted to replace my old Fintie Kindle Case and decided to go with this one, instead of the super thin model. I'm really happy I did! I find the thin one harder to hold (older hands need something to grip) and this one has some substance to it. The cover folds completely back so I can still hold it in one hand. The more substantial frame around the Kindle gives me a smaller area to search for the back and forward buttons; now I usually hit the right place on the first try. It's a sharp-looking case, besides. It does add some thickness, so if you're looking for a case that you can hardly detect, this isn't it. For me, the more substantial feel is a better fit.
I bought my Kindle Voyage and an Omoton cover case back in 2015. The Voyage is still going strong, but the cover, while still usable, looks rather shabby, so I bought this Fintie cover to replace it. (I've only used this case for a couple hours, so maybe I'll update this review later.)
The Fintie case looks and feels much nicer to me, at least the style I got - soft faux leather with modern curved pattern; modern and yet more traditional than the plain black Omoton. It looks more like a slim book you would like to see on in a bookshelf and less like an sleek electronic gadget. But it is thicker and heavier which of course is a minus.
The magnetic closure works better than the one on the Omoton to keep the Kindle closed, and also to turn the Kindle off and on automatically .
The cover easily folds around to the back; unfortunately in that position it doesn't always line up evenly with the front. I'm not sure if this will get better or worse as I use it more.
Maybe the worst problem is that the case covers the charging light. You would have to have the case open to check that the charging has started (an issue with me because I've had problems with the USB connector), and then again to check that it is complete (not much of an issue for me because I leave it charging for hours). This is a definite design flaw.
I like the "pretty face" of this cover, and that (along with the fact that there don't seem to be many covers available for the old Voyage any more) makes me willing to give it more time. If I become more irritated with its flaws, maybe I'll change my rating to 3 stars.
Note: To put the Voyage into the case, first slide it in from the left side, and then bend the leather tab with the velcro backwards all the way and under the Voyage (lifting up the Voyage a bit) and attach it to velcro underneath. I couldn't figure this out for a bit (maybe it's just me, because I couldn't find help online).
(Side note to Omoton Smart Case users: when you take it off, be very gentle. I didn't follow directions and ended up unintentionally poking the power button too much resulting in power-off not working (the Kindle was ON and functioning fine, except that I couldn't turn it OFF). Restarting the Kindle by pressing the power button for 20+ seconds fixed the problem).
I think removing the Fintie cover will be easy; hopefully I won't need to do that for a while.
I bought this case because my original voyage origami case warped and the kindle voyage no longer fit tightly in it. however, this case warped my voyage. because the voyage does not have a flat back and this case is flat, it squeezed the voyage so that the side seams opened up. the voyage still works, but its got gaps on both sides between the screen and the body of the kindle..
When I ordered this, I didn't realize how bulky it was going to make my Kindle Voyage. The Voyage by itself is barely 8 mm thick. In Amazon's case, it's 13.4 mm. In the Fintie Folio case it's 21 mm thick. In other words, this Fintie case nearly triples the thickness of the Voyage. That's not exactly obese--it's no "War and Peace"--but it's a lot less slim than the Voyage was meant to be. Just something to be aware of.
Another gripe, and to me this is a serious annoyance: the cover doesn't turn the Kindle on and off when opened and closed. Apparently its magnets are not in the right places. That means reading is a two-step operation: open the cover, then reach around back and press the power button.
It is attractive in a low-key way, which is why I bought it. But for me, its drawbacks outweigh its advantages.
I really want to like this cover. On the outside, it looks great. It isn't girly and colorful... it looks as though it belongs to a business person. In fact, I often use it to bring my Kindle to work on the off chance that I'll get a decently quiet lunch break, which sadly hasn't happened yet. The material seems of decent quality, and it feels comfortable in the hands. What drives me absolutely insane is that the leather corners which sit on top of the front of the kindle are not level. At first glance, this issue appears to be very minor -- something only someone who suffers from severe OCD would find bothersome. However, I find that when I am reading in any sort of decent light, basically anything but pitch blackness, the corner seems to be waving at my eye, begging me to divert all of my attention to it. It nags at me, reminding me of it's imperfection with every page turn. It tells my hand I am holding the Kindle sideways, when in fact I'm not.
In essence, it's all in my head... but it's also not. The corners aren't level, and that may not be significant for most, but it's driving me crazy enough that I'm about to order a different case. It's a shame. The outside of this case was the perfect fit for me.

I previously had a fintie smart shell case which started to disintegrate at the middle tab. That case also was extremely difficult to get on or off. This case offers a simple slide in install, and then tuck the velcro under for a tight fit. The case has no odor to it- the leather look- and definitely is heavier than the smart shell design by the same manufacturer. While the corners are exposed the actual back board of the case is longer which is what would hit the floor first. The 'binding' would allow for the folding of the front board piece to the back though it wouldn't sit flush that way.
