"... one of the best books I've ever read! It made me laugh and cry... I will remember this book for a long time. Just wonderful!"
Bakery owner Natalie is humiliated when her husband leaves her for a yoga instructor thirteen years older. He wants a divorce and says that Lena, the yoga guru, makes him feel alive, while Natalie makes him feel dead.
She stays strong for her daughter, but it isn't easy. Secretly she wishes she had her old life back. After years of feeling invisible, in a crazy move, she changes her mousy dull hair to a brilliant blonde.
Meanwhile, she wants to expand her Seattle bakery but runs into an obstacle with her absurdly handsome landlord.
Women usually love astronomer Anthony Novello. The exception is his new tenant, Natalie. He's never met a woman more annoying. But when Anthony returns from a telescope observing run, he realizes she's changed.
Despite their battles, he convinces her to go out with him. She has her doubts. Lots of them. But the relationship gets hotter than either of them expects.
When her husband realizes the giant mistake he made and comes crawling back, Natalie has to choose. Is her old life the one she still wants?
Because her year of living blonde may be the best year ever.
Warning: Contains one hot astrophysicist, a curvaceous and stubborn heroine, steamy sex scenes, a villainous ex-husband, his crazy cougar mistress, and the story of how when opposites attract they sometimes--against all odds--fall in love.

Andrea Simonne grew up as an army brat and discovered she had a talent for creating personas at each new school. The most memorable was a surfer chick named "Ace" who never touched a surfboard in her life but had an impressive collection of puka shell necklaces. Andrea still enjoys creating personas though now they occupy her books. She's an Amazon best seller in romantic comedy and contemporary romance, and author of the series Sweet Life in Seattle and About Love. She currently makes her home in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and two sons.

Her lead female character, Natalie is the frumpy, overweight co-owner of a successful bakery. Her husband of 14 years, Peter, unexpectedly dumps her for (surprise, surprise) an older, gorgeous business owner and yoga instructor who is also a life coach.
Blair is Natalie’s business partner and friend who, with Natalie, wants to extend the location of their business. Their geeky landlord, Anthony, is balking at their request. He believes their numbers don’t add up to justify expanding to the vacant store next door. Natalie targets her anger at Anthony. She's frustrated over the inability to grow the business where they are, her failed marriage and her bias against (did I mention Anthony is gorgeous?) “men who have women flocking toward them.”
Lindsey is Natalie’s loyal, beautiful, sister and best friend. She moves in with both Natalie and her niece to unconditionally support them with the changes that lie ahead.
I can’t say I relate to these character’s immediate issues, but I’ve lived a version of them. I like to think I have a healthy sense of humor and enjoyed Simmone’s assigned thinking with how her characters handle life. For me, they certainly have relatable vulnerabilities and I was sucked in.
In short, I read the book cover to cover in a day and came out feeling lighter from it!
Did not like the book. Will not be reading more of the series.
Finally I picked it up and I tell you I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.
It is so we written, there are expected cringe moments that are then overshadowed but hilarious actions from the FMC especially the war of muffins lol.
Honestly so glad I found this book and honestly wish I had read it sooner.
Onward to purchasing the next book in the series, if it's anything like this one I am going to thoroughly enjoy it.
Andrea Simonne k ows how to write a really great story

Bakery store owner Natalie is devastated when her husband tell her he's leaving her for another woman.
She finally gets herself pulled together and makes a few changes to her appearance, and things begin to develop between her and her landlord Anthony.
When the ex wants her back its time to make a decision.
Good read, touching moments, fun moments and a guy who cones across as insecure at times.
I loved it.

Anthony was swoony Peter was a douche Natalie was one lucky lady
Bits of humour bits of sadness and a lovely ugly duckling undertone I loved it xx
