EXCELLENT APP THAT WORKS GREAT IF PROPERLY INSTALLED ON BOTH DEVICES

I was going to purchase a wireless keyboard to use with my Fire TV, but then though maybe I could use the Fire TV remote keyboard, but it does not work in some apps, like Netflix. I did some research and found this app. I was a little hesitant because of a lot of bad reviews, but then read the 5 star reviews, which included important detailed instructions on how to download and install the app on both your Fire TV and android device, and figured maybe the bad reviews were just from people who do not read and follow instructions, so I decided to try it myself for $2. I FOLLOWED THE STEPS CAREFULLY and just finished installing the app on my Fire TV and android phone. I had no problems at all and it works perfectly, much better than the Fire TV app, and the keyboard works in apps that the Fire TV app did not - no more clicking through TV keyboards! It also automatically detected both of my Fire TV devices, so I can use it on both with no need for additional installation or pairing, just choose which device you want to control. I highly recommend this app, but please read and follow instructions, install on both devices and reboot your Fire TV. Best $2 ever spent. This app saved me $25 (actually $50 because I would have needed two), have one less remote to lose and less clutter. Please read the other 5 star reviews and follow the steps to install they have already detailed. Instructions are also available on Amazon on to how to install for both Android and Fire TV devices.

This app is great! I am using it with a Fire tablet combined with a Fire TV stick. For days to accomplish something I was trying to do with the Fire TV stick, I was really having the need for an app with this kind of functionality as I did not want to invest in a bluetooth mouse and bluetooth keyboard. First I tried some other remote-type apps that were free, but after I tested them I found that they did not fully provide what I needed. Then I found this "Remote for Fire TV' app, and I decided to give this a try. For only $1.99 I figured I did not have much to lose if this "Remote for Fire TV" app didn't work out. Boy was I happy to see it work so well ! The fact that I can switch between Dpad, Mouse, and Keyboard is great. Plus on the mouse screen of the app on my Fire tablet, I was delighted to find that it also gave me the capability to move the entire Fire TV screen up, down, left, or right, a screen at a time.

Tip: I found that the following is important in the description of the product, particularly because it mentions to install on both devices (although I have found that a Fire tablet works instead of an "Android phone" of Requirement 2 ) :

"Requirements:
1.) Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV Stick
2.) Android phone

Does not work with newest Fire TV game system

Works but has a decent amount of lag (-1 star). Had to restart my fire TV to get full functionality. Developer has quick response to my email.

If you only have a cursor on the screen and nothing else functions then restart the Fire TV by going into settings and restarting. Unplug and replugging did not work for me.

Simply doesn't work with Fire TV 2. Mouse moves but nothing else. Can't click, type or use d-pad. Wish I could get a refund. Just a waste.

Summary: This app does not work with the Fire TV. The app provides a mouse, but is unable to click select, use the 'remote' directional pads, scroll through pages, or anything that would make the app useable.

Details:
I purchased a Fire TV Box, with the intention of getting TV available in a location in my house where there was no cable, just wifi.

I tried to log in to the various TV apps, but discovered that my provider (Comcast) does NOT allow access to HBO Go, HGTV, ESPN, or anything else on an a la carte basis. They do offer a "TV Go" app, which does not have an app in the amazon app store- but is available via various android .apk repositories. I got bold and downloaded the app to my PC in order to sideload the .apk. Navigated various .apk versions, and got the app running, but was unable to input a username/password. Discovered that I needed a physical keyboard/mouse connected to the USB Port in order to make this app work, which defeated the purpose of this app.

Many reviews said that this app would provide full functionality, but that is not my experience. I could move the mouse cursor, but not select anything, not scroll through the app, not use the keyboard, not use the 'remote' keys, or make the app work.

As a result, I paid for the Amazon App, and I paid for the Apple App store, which does absolutely nothing.

Con la firetv si possono installare tutte le app android ma non tutte funzionano subito correttamente perchè sviluppate per un uso touch e quindi senza telecomando. Grazie a questa app si sopperisce a questo problema e si riescono a sfruttare a pieno anche le app che non digeriscono appunto il telecomando.

Funciona.Con ayuda del servicio técnico de amazon apps la instalé correctamente.Os dejo las indicaciones:

Tenéis que tener antes que nada el móvil abierto en temas de seguridad para descargar apps de otros desarrolladores.En Samsung es en fuentes de seguridad o algo asi.Después vais a www.amazon.es/appstore y buscais la app ésta del remote y la descargáis e instaláis en el móvil.Ojo que la del playstore es otra y no es desarrollada por amazon.

También supongo tendréis que tener instalada la app de Fire Tv en el movil y evidentemente la app de remote en el fire stick.

Y ya está,con vuestra cuenta amazon abierta funciona.La de remote viene con opcion raton o touchpad. Ya sabéis que para su buen uso tenéis que tener el móvil conectado al Wifi donde se conecta fire stick.

Por cierto funciona perfectamente con movistar tv y hbo instalados en el fire stick
