Amazing. This book is so actionable--each chapter has invaluable and practical advice on a stage in the process of creating a software product. It had me wanting to leap out of my chair and file papers of incorporation!

The author suggests using it along the stages of creation, not reading it as a book, rather as a recipe--but since I didn't have an idea yet, I thought I'd read it all the way through. As I read, I ended up having tons of interesting ideas, all of them now written down for future consideration.

I'm currently the marketing person at a fledgling startup but as soon as I free up to start my own project I'll be re-reading this book! I cannot recommend it highly enough--it mirrored all the good things we've done in our startup (and warned people away from several of the mistakes we made!) I wish we'd had this book when we founded Fittr!

Best money I've spent on a Kindle book in a LONG time.

Awesome Book All Around!!

This book is must read for anyone with a software idea that want to make it a reality. For a couple years I had been toying around with a certain software idea that I believe can improve a certain process in my profession. However, there really wasn’t a book to guide from where I am to where I want to be. This book is that guide that can turn your idea (actually a better version of your idea) into a reality. The author covers everything from how to test your assumption, improve/test your initial idea, who to reach out to, how to go about funding, how to hire a technical team and more. The author also has a series of interviews that drive home points made in the book. Throughout the book there also guided exercises that help you think through issues on your way to building an actual product. Fun read all around, it has inspired me to start building the product I had previously only been thinking about, and given me a step by step guide to get there.

Great book, informative and with many insights - for beginners and advanced product creators

I had the pleasure of being part of one of Poornima Vijayashanker's workshops about Lean Product Development, and this book is really a wonderful printed and revised version of it - with more insights, interviews and real life examples. I also had the joy of being one of the first readers with the opportunity to give feedback early on.

Short version: Even if not everything was new to me (because I already was part of several other product creation and lean startup workshops) I learned many things and would consider myself better prepared for a lot of product opportunities / challenges.

To give some details about what I really love about the content:
- It has an awesome clear structure, that, when you read and work through, makes perfectly sense. It's not "overpreparing" or overexplaining unnecessarily, it gets to the point very easily without losing the reader.
- Every now and then, there is an interview with real product creators / startup founders to explain some details and / or to give some new perspective, that alone makes this book really fun to read. Also it gives somehow more insights about real bright minds and how they managed to do things the right way.
- It contains almost everything someone could wish for when having an idea in mind and wanting to transform it into a real product. It contains strategies / ideas how to do it on the side resp. to being able to afford it, how to overcome certain blocks almost every entrepreneur might face and a lot more things. Overall it almost takes you by the hand and leads you, and that's quite a good achievement for "only" a book.
- It also contains so many aspects of product design, positioning, marketing, customer personas, so it's not only the journey well described but also the aspects of products and the implications that make this book really useful.

Oh and overall, it's a really nice read :-)

101 Level Information, OK not Great

Not a huge fan of the book. To be fair, I selected this as an Audio Book and it was quite hard to follow the examples and exercises with the oral presentation of the information. Overall I did pick up a few interesting points, but fairly 101 on the information provided.
