Blown away by the Quality and Ease of Use!

After researching a number of available microphone options, I chose the Blue Yeti because of the on-board controls, such as the mute button, 3.5mm headphone jack and volume control for headphones, and the four recording modes. The Blue Yeti has a Stereo mode for singing and musical applications. This mic also has a Cardioid mode for voiceovers and podcasting, which suits my purposes well. Next, the Blue Yeti has an Omnidirectional mode for applications such as conference calls or event recording. Lastly, The Blue Yeti has a Bidirectional mode for applications such as interviewing or vocal duets. Because of the array of options and recording modes, I felt this mic would suit my needs the best. Upon receiving the Blue Yeti (Blackout Edition), I was surprised at how hefty this microphone is. Everything, from the base to the actual mic, is solidly built, constructed from quality metal (not aluminum either), and exudes quality from every aspect. From the power-coated blackness, to the knobs and buttons. Everything on and about the Blue Yeti surpassed my expectations. Being a novice at professional grade mics, I really had no idea what to expect but I can honestly say I was blown away by this product! The Blue Yeti was a breeze to set up, simple plug and play with Windows 7 Professional. My system immediately recognized the Blue Yeti, searched for recent updates, and installed all the necessary drivers in less than 3 min. Use of the Blue Yeti seems to be equally simplistic. Since the purpose of the Blue Yeti is for YouTube content, this mic produces excellent quality sound and suits my needs perfectly. In addition to receiving the Blue Yeti, I also received a Knox Pop Filter and JVC Headset as a bundle set. The Pop Filter functions flawlessly and because I ordered the Blackout Edition, the colors mesh well together. The JVC Headset is something that you will want to upgrade. However, as a beginners headset, you will find that they are lightweight and rather comfortable to wear. For the price of a bundle set, I am completely satisfied with this product and all the products included in the bundle. Like I said though, the JVC Headset will not be adequate for those desiring superior sound quality. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this bundle for all your recording needs. In addition to the Blue Yeti, I also purchased the Symphaudio As-35 Adjustable Studio Suspension Boom, which supports the hefty Blue Yeti, Pop Filter, and homemade Acoustic Isolation and Absorbing Shield, with ease. In order to attach the Blue Yeti to this Suspension Boom, you will need to purchase separate mount, which I threw caution to the wind and ordered the Auphonix Plastic Shock Mount for the Blue Yeti. In spite of rumored inconsistencies between the mounting post and the mount hole on the Blue Yeti, I was pleased that this pair was a perfect union right out the box and did not have to make any aftermarket adjustments to make them fit. I was one of the lucky ones that had a perfect union between all three of these products. Although the Auphonix model I purchased is plastic, they now offer an aluminum model that may prove to endure more abuse. However, for my needs, this plastic model suffices. Overall, I highly recommend the Blue Yeti, the Symphaudio Boom, and the Auphonix Shock Mount!

Yeti is a great microphone--but don't need the headphones.

I own the Blue Snowball microphone (in fact, I own 2) and I decided to upgrade to this Yeti version. The headphones are what you'd expect for a "thrown-in-kind-of-deal". They hurt when I wear them after about 30 minutes. The sound is "okay". I'd suggest just ordering the microphone and the pop filters (notice Amazon has a pop filter that will fit the Yeti--no drilling required) and use your own headphones for a more comfortable better sound. The Yeti sound is spectacular on the recordings I make.

The quality of this mic for the price is pretty outstanding however I found through testing that the Stereo setting is not great. The left channel was definitely lower volume than the right... and with only 1 gain control for all inputs I couldn't raise gain on one side without raising the other. I end up recording in omni-directional which seems to be consistent.

The headset came with a little "scratch" in the audio when adjusting the plug... and if not turned right will not output sound well to one side.

I do recommend this mic but it certainly was not flaw free/

Not bad. The product arrived safely without any major problems. The only thing I can think of is the knobs are loose on the mic, not sure if it is suppose to be like that or if not lol. When it came in I instantly fell in love with the sound quality of the mic.

I mostly use it for content creation, like YouTube.

After all the good reviews I decided to go for this mic I purchased at th beginning I was happy with the quality but it After a few days of using is I was very disappointed with the results no sounds, no clear voice it’s damaged in the middle of my project it’s broke no sound anymore and no clear or not working at all somtimes I’m very very very disappointed with this purchase I contacted the company support every day no one answering every day for a month or so, no emails response either.. it’s totally theft I’m very disappointed..

Thought it was great at first - it came recommended from other sound people and was super easy to set up and use (note: the mic definitely picks EVERYTHING up so it’s not for those with background noise or those who don’t want to spend time editing well). But my podcast cohost’s mic failed last year, and mine stopped working this year. At first we thought there were USB issues but it turns out (after ordering several cables) to be the mic itself that fails after just two years. All it did was sit in the office and get used to record weekly episodes, so for it to stop working altogether was surprising and disappointing. Would recommend another mic if you don’t want to buy new ones every few years.
