Classic RPG

It's early so I cannot give it a full review yet, but I like what I see. It reminds me of the classic RPG games. It reminds me most of the Diablo games I plated on both PC and PS4. The story seems elaborate so far and I feel more in control of being able to do what I want than some other RPG's in which you must follow a certain path, hidden by what seems to be an open world.
Just to add, I love the western RPG games and completely hate every JPRG. I have given multiple Final Fantasy games multiple chances, but I would rate every single JPRG I have ever tried as zero stars. I lose interest in them quickly and never complete. So if you are looking for a JRPG style games, this is not for you.

I loved Baldur's Gate and this was very like it. Lots of options in building characters. Just the right game for old farts that don't have the reflexes of a rattlesnake on crack.

Great Game! I bought this game while on sale and it is so good that I would be willing to pay full price if necessary. If you like the Baldurs Gate series and Icewind Dale then you will absolutely love this game. There are 2 additional expansions for this game (not included) which add to the content and are worth investing in as well.

This game is OK. It just didn't live up to the hope of achieving what great games like Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 or Planescape Torment did. Still... this is muuuuuuuch better than Beamdog's crappy 'enhanced editions'

It's worth a playthrough, but buy it on a good sale.

Good for players who have fantasy RPG knowledge and interest but not much video game skill

As someone who struggles with most video games and does not have playstation or xbox, this was the perfect game for me: turn-based, lots of pausing as I use simple controls to put my characters into position to do their thing. I used to watch my son play Baldur's Gate. This game resembles that (intentionally, I understand). My lack of manual dexterity and video game experience have been hardly a hindrance at all, which is the most meaningful praise I can give to those in my position.

This game was intended as a contemporary role-playing game in the style of Bladur's Gate, and its creators have succeeded. My only displeasure is with somewhat longish load times between screens/terrains, and also with the lack of the ability for the player to assign scripted conditional actions to characters.

Do you love immersive fantasy? Do you yearn for the bygone days of Baldur's Gate II and Planescape: Torment? Do you have a pulse? Then this game is for you! It's a familiar system in a brand new world, and that world will drag you in and never let go. It's a must-have for all RPG fans.

A worthy successor to Baldur's Gate

It's Baldur's Gate, all grown up. BG2 is still more epic in some ways, but this is a worthy successor. It introduces novel spell casting mechanics with the chanter and cipher classes; and it offers a well-developed, warped world.
