Ease of use.

Ease of use.
I love how fast that it accesses USB flash drives, especially on the 3.0 port; almost instantaneously. However, I would have liked to have seen better directions on how else to use it. It is pretty much plug & play, but it would've been nice to see detailed instructions on what else that it could do. I was hoping to use the ethernet connector, to attach to my modem/router, and create a NAS drive, using a USB flash drive. It could be that I just don't know how to do that, or that my modem/router is not capable of that function. However, using it on my laptop instead, I love having more USB ports available now; especially super fast ones. Please note, it does run a bit hot to warm, and back and forth, but overall function seems great for the price. Also, it was really nice of them to provide the USB-C to USB-A adapter (the normal one that we are all used to). It allowed me to use another port on my laptop. So in effect, my laptop went from (2) normal USB-A ports to (5). Works for me!

Purchased the "WEme 2-in-1 USB-C to 3 Ports USB 3.0 Hub with Gigabit Ethernet Adapter..." as a gift for a friend of mine who just crossed over from PC-land, buying a used 2013 MacBook Air running El Capitan. After walking her through the preliminaries over the phone (connecting to her home wifi network, plugging the Weme into a USB 3.0 port and attaching an external HDD, getting Time Machine set up, etc.), it was time to migrate her PC laptop to the MacBook Air.

However, no USB LAN option showing in Network Preferences. An hour of trial and error and web researching later, I had her download a generic usb 2.0 ethernet adapter here [...] and run the installer found in the "x86_64" folder. After the required reboot, voila: USB 10/100/1000 LAN shows as an option in Network preferences and shows as connected. :) The Mac Migration Assistant did its thing and her transfer is now in process -and far, far faster than if she'd used wifi.

Other reviewers have highlighted features and specs so won't duplicate, but will sum up by saying: this adapter works like a charm. No driver needed for the Mac to access the USB Hub portion, with several tested thumb drives and a USB 3 external HDD recognized and transferring data at very fast speeds; and the above referenced driver install solved the Ethernet related issue. The provided USB-C adapter that slides onto the USB 3 plug is a nice added bonus (not all manufacturers include one).

Great price, good apparent build quality, and fast two-day shipping on Amazon Prime.

Purchased this for my Macbook Pro (mid 2014) with a dual boot OSX Mavericks/Windows 7 x64. This adapter worked perfectly right out of the box. Boot Camp version 5.1 drivers recognized this as a RealTek LAN adapter immediately ans installed in under a minute. Tried both USB 3.0 ports and the installation worked for both without recognizing the adapter as new hardware. Additionally, I tested putting the laptop to sleep to see if the adapter had issues connecting when it wakes (a known Macbook pro / Bootcamp issue) and it handled it perfectly.

The status lights are a nice touch to see if data is moving at a glance, and the build quality feels solid. After running a series of speed tests, I did feel the adapter get a little warm, but nothing to be concerned about in my opinion. I felt the length of the cable was a little long for my taste (11 1/4"), but it's not worth a star loss since this is mostly my preference.

Also worth noting there's a WEme Unibody Aluminum 3 Ports USB 3.0 Hub and RJ45 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter with Type C Adapter, LAN Wired Network Converter for USB-C Device New MacBook, ChromeBook Pixel, iMac, MacBook Pro Air, Mac Mini, Microsoft Surface Pro, Lenovo Yoga PC which also includes a USB hub, which I probably would have picked up had I known it existed.

This accessory has worked perfectly. The Ethernet cable connected immediately to my work network so I didn't need to remove the protective case from my Surface Pro. It is VERY light, which is great for traveling with it in my soft "briefcase". I own a splitter for adding a USB port and some other ports, but it doesn't fit through the protective case on my Surface Pro. This works perfectly for that. The only disadvantage of this accessory is that it doesn't allow multiple mini-DP video connections. For traveling it is no issue, but when in the office I'll probably continue to take off my protective case and use the MS docking station so I can run two monitors off my Surface Pro 3. The SP3 can drive two 4K monitors, and I probably will not be willing to downgrade to just the SP3 + one 4K monitor. The USB C adapter is nice, but I don't have anything that uses it YET. I'm sure it will be useful when everything converts to that superior connector style.

Says it needs no drivers for a Mac, maybe so, but is a POS as far as working correctly. Even after disabling the LAN function, it still interferes with the WiFi connecting. If I hadn't needed a way to use USB devices and was not willing to pay Apple's price for what appears very similar I would never have bought it. Company's website is "under construction" and I emailed them on 20 July and have yet to receive any response. I did hear back from WeMe and they sent me an updated unit at no charge which works flawlessly. Maybe the first one was bad? I definitely updated this to 5 stars as once I heard from them their customer support was great.
