Warm Tips:

Nice panel, disappointing output.

It is a good looking panel I received. Well-packed and in new condition. However, I give it only 2 stars because it is rated as a 50 watt panel and I was only able to get 37 watts on an optimal day: Blue sky, no clouds, high noon, summer sun, with and without use of 6 foot extension to my Goal Zero Yeti 400. Northern California, 3500 ft altitude.

More test results to follow.

I will most likely return for a 100 watt solar panel if out put remains low.

Being a Power plant Engineer, I have the equipment to test and monitor this panel very closely .. This semi flexible solar panel produces, 47 Watts in evening sun .. noon sun produces 49.7 Watts.. charges my RV batteries very well .. it’s heavy duty grommets allows me to hang or mount this solar panel.. it’s bubble serface does not make it critical to aim the panel directly at the sun for maximum output .. very pleased with this solar panel and sells at a good price..

A nice solar panel with the terminal box located on the back of the panel. I did notice the panel started to cup after being installed less than a month (the plastic substrate started to warp). I made sure the solar panel was free to expand and contract independently of the surface it's mounted on.
I hope this cupping does not get any worse as it could break the connections between the solar cells.

salt water caused the junction box to fail

The panel was fine with rain or other forms of fresh water. The junction box is not water proof in any way and appears to allow water to flow through. Salt water spray has caused the panel to fail. there is green residue all around the junction box. this is sold for marine purposes. Salt water spray is inevitable.

Dieses kleine 50 Watt-Modul haben wir auf das gekrümmte Dach unseres alten 7-er-BMW geklebt und es liefert jetzt im September und Oktober pro Tag ca. 400 Wh, in drei Tagen also rund eine komplette Batterieladung von 100 Ah bei 12 V. Auch die inzwischen zweite Batterie mit ebenfalls 100 Ah hat das Modul nach wenigen Tagen so voll geknallt, dass es seinen Strom nicht mehr loswerden konnte. Bemerkenswert ist, dass das Modul schon bei Helligkeit, also auch ohne direkte Sonneneinstrahlung Strom produziert. Das Ding ist super.
