You need this to set up your Solar Epic Charge Controller. There's an identical looking Meter but it's for the Renogy Charge Controller and it's more expensive (apparently Renogy made some wiring changes that prevent people from buying this meter which is cheaper. Go figure.)
It works well, but the menu is not very intuitive (or maybe it's me). It took me awhile to figure out why I could not change any settings. Under "Control Parameter" you need to select "User" to have changeable settings. Otherwise they are pre-programmed and unchangeable for Sealed, Gel, and Flooded. I needed to lower the Charge Limit Voltage a bit for my particular type of Sealed battery. I also turned off Equalization as it's not normally used for Sealed batteries.
There's also a software program you can download instead of buying this, but I never tried it so I can't comment on it.

Nice size display which funtions to display and control my MPPT charger.
I am using the MT 50 remote meter in conjunction with four 30 watt Renogy panels and a SolarEpic Tracer 1215BN solar charge controller.The meter is fairly big in size which gives a good size display. If they didn't have the smiley face Icon on display they could have made the information displayed on the screen bigger, which in my opinion would be better.Initially I thought the large size of the case that the meter sits into was to big. The cable that came with the meter was way to long for what I needed (about 4") and the large size of the case allowed me to roll the cable up and place it under the meter while still being able to screw it into the case.The meter tells you how the charge controller is functioning and also allows you to program the parameters of the controller also.On mine, the OK button kept sticking making it difficult to enter the changes. I fixed that with a small amount of WD40 on a toothpick to apply it along the outside diameter of the round button. Now it works great.
