Bought this for my daughter in college for her mobile workstation. She was having trouble with the HDMI port on her laptop, and it also had a Thunderbolt (Mini-DP) port as well. With a low price and fast Amazon Prime shipping, she's up and running with no complaints, and if needed, can now display at higher than 1080p resolution. We'll deal with the HDMI port later, but I should have gone this way first.
Like many digital technologies and accessories, it either works or it doesn't. This one did very nicely.

Works as advertised. The mini display port side fits snuggly into the the MacBook Pro. Its not loose and does not "wiggle". The HDMI side is slim enough to fit in the narrow port of my HP monitor. The HDMI also fits snuggly into the port (no wiggles). The image quality is good (but my monitor isn't great so its hard for me to confirm how high quality the image is). If I have issues I'll repost updates.

What more can you ask for? Seriously, with all the confusing options out there for getting your computer screen to project onto your tv, It's so nice to have a single cord that just works. I had an older Mini DP to HDMI cord like this from another maker that just stopped working. I don't know why. I was glad to find this one, and I hope it keeps working so flawlessly. This works for a 2008 aluminum body MacBook mirroring to a Samsung flatscreen. Only beef is I wish it was a couple feet longer.

This cable was used to replace a cheaper cable bought at Best Buy due to display issues. Whereas the cheaper cable didn't seat properly in the mini-display ports of our docking station and could move around, this cable fits nicely and securely. The cheaper cable caused distortions such as certain colors showing as blue in pixelated blotches. This cable resolved that issue and we haven't had any problems since installing this one. The cable itself isn't flimsy like the cheaper one and feels a lot more sturdy.

Despite the signal being digital and previous research leading me to believe the cable doesn't technically matter, getting a better cable this time has paid off. Not really sure if the gold plating helps at all with the signal but I will say a sturdier build and better ends to the cable are what really make the difference, probably as well better manufacturing. I feel like this cable will last a long time in the process of being moved around constantly for travel.

I certainly wouldn't pay too much for a cable but this one was priced modestly for what it is, especially in comparison to what I paid for the other cable.

I have a micro HDMI to HDMI cable for my camera, a mini HDMI to HDMI cable for my Flip camcorder. I work on computers as a retiree and bought my first full size display port to HDMI adapter. But I just picked up a Surface Pro 3, and it has a mini DP so I had to get another adapter cable. Very nice value for a nicer price.
