We have 2 of these and send one nearly every day in our daughter’s lunch. It’s a bit fiddly to ensure it doesn’t leak but I’ve found a few tricks to prevent leaking. We do take it all apart to wash in the dishwasher - the straw, straw spout, and sealing ring on the lid all come off. Doing that we’ve never had any mold or other gross stuff start growing. Here’s how I fill it to prevent leaking: When I’m ready to put the top on, I leave the lid open (like in the photo). I’ve found if I have the lid closed, when someone does open it later to drink it’ll squirt some of whatever is in it at the poor unsuspecting person. Also I push down the front part of the lid first (on the right in the photo) and then the back. In the past when I’ve pushed it all down at the same time, sometimes the lid seal would get a wrinkle in it somewhere and it would leak there. When I push down the front and back separately there hasn’t been any leaking.I imagine at some point these will wear out, and I’ll be coming back to buy new ones.

I LOVE this drink container. First, so far I've been using it in my son's lunch for a few weeks and it hasn't leaked. He (2) uses it without issue and unlike disposable juice boxes he can't push in the straw rendering it unusable. WIN WIN WIN. It's easy to use, easy to clean (I use little straw brushes to get in the tight spots), and it also looks nice, too.

Perhaps most importantly, it is the final piece in the puzzle that is putting together a lunch box that actually fits together with no extra parts to be carried. The Drink Box is exactly the right size to fit in beside my son's Bentgo box in his lunch box (PackIt brand). As you can see in the photo they all fit easily within the lunch box--there's even about an inch above and on top of the BentGo and Drink Box for silverware, snacks, etc. If you, too, are looking for lunchbox balance but have struggled with too-big drink containers get the Drink Box.

Functional and easy to clean without adding individual milk cartons to the landfill. My kindergartener uses this every day (in blue) at school and has had zero spills. I fill it to right above the dot on the "i" and then tip it upside down after securing the lid to ensure it doesn't leak. No leaks to date! They also sell scribble stickers you can place on the side and ice packs that fit the box which I discovered after visiting their website. I also purchased a straw/seal replacement kit in case ours gets lost. Will be buying more boxes in different colors soon! This combined with lunchskins (old version, not the new cheapo ones) kids conserve stainless steel lunch containers, and lunchbots dip containers along with a cloth napkin and oxo tot stainless steel spoon or fork and lunch is (more) "green" again !

We used this product happily for 6 months. It never leaked and the straw was wide enough for my kids green smoothies. My son dropped his box on the floor one day and I was surprised when the lid broke off. The hinge left a very sharp jagged edge which could easily cut a child.

I used four of these (alternating between them) in my kindergarten girl's and second grade boy's lunches all school year last year. My second grader's never leaked... my kindergartner's leaked sometimes on the way home... and I switched different colors between them, so it was not the product, but rather it was my younger child's error in failing to close it properly. (She would finish the drink, then return it to the lunch box not completely closed because she didn't think there was any left, but just the leftover drops managed to leak...classic really.) But basically, they were amazingly awesome at containing their contents when used properly. I did emphasize to them not to throw their lunches into their lunch bins as I could see how the lid release button could potentially be bumped and then open the top thereby causing leaks... (this never actually happened though). Also, by the end of the year, one hinge joint on two of the four boxes I was using did break. So they were not SUPER durable... but the others are still fine. So, don't expect years of service, but they should last most of a year if not mistreated. I never had issues with mold, but I would run mine through the dishwasher every week or so when I felt hand washing wasn't quite getting them clean enough.

***Why I really Liked them: On a side note... our population consumes WAY too much sugar (among other junky chemicals)... even quality non-fructose corn syrup adulterated juice still has loads of sugar, albeit "natural and unrefined". Therefore, I rarely give my kids straight juice... I always dilute it 1/2 or 3/4 with water. That is what they are used to, so straight juice is actually too sweet for their tastes now. This makes juice go twice as far as well. Win win. I highly recommend diluting your children's juice... and if your kids are used to the super sweet stuff....back them down slowly, dilute just 1/4 of it with water to start for the first week, then try diluting a bit more... and so on and so on until they are used to and happy with more water. Research studies show that sugars (even the natural ones) act on our brains in the same way that powerful drugs like cocaine do... we become addicted and are always craving more and more, hence the large quantity of sugar present in most packaged foods. Anyways, I will come down from my soap box now and end with this: whatever your personal preference, straight juice, diluted juice, milk, or water, these boxes work great for them all!

I have bought two of these now, and I wanted to wait a month or two before writing a review to see how they held up. So far, in daily school use, we have not had any leaking. We ONLY use water with these, so we haven't had any issues with odd build-up or smells building up anywhere. It's really a cool looking drink box and my kids get compliments on them. We bought them because they were much smaller than a water bottle and so could fit into their lunch box along with their Bento box.

This juice box is great! Doesn’t leak, easy to wash all the parts. Unfortunately, it is difficult to open. My son who is almost 3 cannot manage it on his own. So even when using this at home, he needs help.
