USB-C port charges at regular USB 2 charge levels - this is not a proper USB-C charger

Updating the review, since seller is clearly showing in his response that this is not a proper USB-C charger.

Per the USB specification v1.1 (page 23, table 2.1), the official USB-C charge levels are 900mA, 1.5A, and 3A. USB legacy charging, listed as USB BC 1.2, goes to 1.5A. There is a number of 'smart' chargers out there that go to 2.4A but these are not following the USB spec, but rather rely on vendor extensions.

Seller's statement that this charger only charges at 2.4A strongly supports the theory that this charger is in fact on of the usual 2.4A vendor extension chargers that has been re-wired to a USB-C plug and runs legacy mode.

The Nexus 5X does NOT do fast charging with this charger! This is despite what some of the reviews to this product incorrectly claims. I can only wonder how there are so many reviews on here that incorrectly claim something which clearly isn't true, and which seller has confirmed in his response to my review.

A great way to charge more than 2 devices at a time and save some space in your cable bag when traveling.

Pros: Smaller than an equivalent number of individual chargers, moderate output power (35W), AC power cord
Cons: Bigger than a single device charger, USB-C does not support 3A charge rate

The Alisten 6-port USB charger works well as a general purpose USB charger but it does not support QC2.0 or the higher USB-C charge rates. I purchased this product because it has a USB-C port that allows me to use a USB-C to USB-C cable with my phone. I can also use a USB-A to USB-C cable with my phone but neither offers a charging advantage over the other, it simply gives me more flexibility in my cable loadout. Any port can deliver up to 2.4A (12W) up to a charger total of 7A (35W). The Amazon description lists a number of supported devices but this list is a little misleading since my phone (which is listed) charges, but does not charge rapidly. I subtracted 1 star because I think a USB-C port should charge at USB-C rates. 2.4A is good, but it isn't 3.0A

Overall dimensions are 3-7/8" x 3-1/8" x 1-1/8" and it weighs 6.3 ounces. By comparison, my heaviest individual charger (a 3.0A USB-C unit) weighs 2.0 ounces. Although light for its size, it feels and appears well finished. The device itself is too large to plug into an AC outlet without interfering with another plug so the AC cord works better than a captive plug. It also allows the charger to be placed where it is convenient so you don't have 6 USB cables running to the wall socket.

I travel quite a bit and this is the device I keep in my cable bag.

I love being on the front lines of technology, so I immediately jumped at the chance to get this product. I have more tablets and phones and gadgets in my house than I can keep track of so I need something like this to keep them all juiced up and ready to go. The ports are sturdy and I don't feel like I'm going to rip off the face plate like I have with others. It charges all my devices very quickly and seems to intelligently manage what charges faster than others based on what's plugged in. Very cool.

Please see the video for my full review.

Bought it for the ability to charge my Macbook 12" via USB-C as well as all the usual iDevices.

It's fantastic at charging all the small devices, seems to do it at the highest rate they can take and you can plug in several and it can handle them all. However, when I plugged in the new Macbook 12" via USB-C, the Macbook said the charge time was going to be 10 hours.

I plugged in the Apple UCB-C charger back in (both sharing the same cable) and it said 2 hours until full charge. I went back to the Alisten again and it went back to 10 hours to fully charge.

While it will work, it's just too slow of a charge to make the Alisten be a replacement for my Macbook charger. I'm not sure if it isn't supplying enough amperage for the macbook?

If all you need to only charge the smaller devices, this product is great. If you had hoped to use this for your Macbook too, it doesn't seem to cut it unless I've received a bad unit, but it seems to work as advertised otherwise.

With everybody having so many devices these days, charging up while traveling becomes a problem, so I got this to shove into my travel bag so we can all charge our phones and tablets and mifi's and whatever else.

Wish it had a regular wall plug rather than a detachable cord.

Right out of the box, I was so excited to use this. We have a terrible issue in our house where we either don't have enough outlets to charge everything we need to, or we're missing the "plug in" for our cords. This usually means that the 10 USB ports on my computer are always full and I have a pile of tablets, cell phones, headsets, and PS4 controllers on my desk.

What interests me (and is by far the best feature) is the smart charging. I'm a huge gamer and although I love my PS4, it only has 2 USB ports that we usually use for our wireless headset dongles so controllers and headsets charge on my PC as I haven't been able to find anything that plugs into the wall to provide proper power for all of them. The smart charging feature adjusts to each device so it works with literally anything. I use it for my headset, my DualShock4, my Scuf controller, my tablet, and my Galaxy S6 all at the same time with no issues and without worrying that I'm going to trash any batteries.

The only downside I've found is that the light is bright. Like SUPER bright. Its a beacon in my living room among all the other lights to everything else xD Other than that, no complaints from me. It works as described and is a wonderful addition to any home that needs to charge several devices via USB with no hassles. The smart feature makes it worth far more than it costs.

This product was provided to me at a discount for testing and review purposes, but I would never endorse something that I didn't believe was worthy of it and I would never post an opinion that wasn't my own.
