Background information
I am quite familiar with iOS, Android, Windows, OS X. I have been developing software.
Phones I own right now: Galaxy S4, Galaxy Nexus, Moto G (2013)
Phones I had owned before: Atrix, Galaxy S3, iPhone 5, etc.
Performance
I worried about the performance because it uses a MediaTek CPU which has a bad reputation. I did some basic stuff like installing apps, watching YouTube, or browsing the web, etc. It definitely is faster than Galaxy Nexus, and Moto G. It could be due to 2GB RAM instead of 1GB like Moto G has. I could not feel noticeable lag or slowness. It feels perhaps even faster than Galaxy S4 or Nexus 7 2013 for some tasks. I ran Geek Bench. Keep in mind total score is quite arbitrary value because of the weights used. One X's single-core score was a little bit lower than that of Galaxy S4. One X's multi-core score was a little higher than that of Galaxy S4. At this price point, I have no complaints about the performance as of yet.
I do not play games, but I just ran Asphalt 8 as a test. It lagged with High visual quality. It was playable bit still a little bit not smooth with Medium visual quality. On Galaxy S4, this game runs quite smoothly with High visual quality. Basically, if you expect you could play high quality 3D games smoothly on a phone at this price point, it ls like a person who wants to play Crisis at maximum settings on an Intel Atom netbook.
Look and feel
I like how it looks, probably one of the best I have seen for years. It looks thin and sleek, due to its rounded edges. Moto G feels twice as thicker than One X, and feels heavy. There is some sort of metal rounding around the edge, and the back cover is removable. The problem is, the narrow area between the metal edge and the plastic cover is a little bit recessed, so when you are holding the phone you can feel it. This does not feel good. Galaxy S4 also has fake metal rounding and back cover, but it does not have this problem. Also, the back cover plastic feels really thin and cheap. I am not a person who just hates plastic for being plastic. I never ranted Galaxy S4 being plastic. S4's plastic back cover feels solid and when you tap on it, it does not rattle. It seems that there is slight gap between the back and the back cover, and since the back cover is thin, when you tap on it, it rattles. It is not a big problem, but a little bit annoying. Even Moto G's plastic back cover feels a lot solid and high-quality than One X's.
Screen quality
I am very satisfied with the screen, especially at this price point! It is very bright and colourful, so it just looks good. Mine has no light-bleedings on the corners or any dead pixels like my Moto G, which has both light-bleedings and a dead pixel (could be a dust under the glass). Also its resolution is 1080p, miles better than Moto G.
The only small problem is, that the minimum brightness is too bright. I compared the minimum brightness with other devices' minimum brightness. One X's minimum brightness was the brightest. I would say, its minimum brightness is twice as bright than Nexus 7 (2013).
Loud speaker sound quality
I would say, an average quality for a phone. I watched many reviews before I received it, and I worried about the speaker quality, because some reviewers said the speaker was very tinny and sounded bad. I tested it and it wasn’t really bad. As a proof, I have recorded a video in which I compare the speaker qualities of four phones. Moto G's loud speaker was a bit better as its maximum volume is louder and it sounded a little bit clearer. But for watching YouTube videos (mainly talking), the difference not that noticeable unless you directly compare the two side by side.
A little bit disappointing is the popping noise of the headphone jack when playing sound starts/ends. I think this happens because internally it turns off the analogue sound output to save energy and then turns it on when playing sound. My cheap Lenovo laptop also has this problem. Moto G also has this problem but its noise is a lot milder. High-end devices (at least at their debut) like Galaxy S4 or MacBook do not have this problem. Anyways, this happens only when play starts/ends, not during the playback.
System language
It has about 20 languages including English, French, German, or Chinese. But it does not have Japanese or Korean. I am fine with English, but a small problem is there are no variants. I use British English, but there is only English which is US English. On Nexus devices, there are many variants of English, such as United States or United Kindom.
Undeletable Applications
There were only a few applications when I first turned it on. It had McAfee Security, Yahoo Weather, Opera, some Amazon stuff. First, I deleted MacAfee right away, because I think those kinds of applications are generally scams themselves (I also hate that John McAfee). Almost all could be installed or disabled. Here is the list of applications that are not part of Android or from Google and cannot be uninstalled nor disabled. When compared to phones from Samsung or LG, there is almost no bloatware at all.
-- BLU Help (just a shortcut to their web site), File Manager, FM Radio, TouchPal 2015 (default keyboard), Videos (seems to be a video player).
OS
Right after I turned it on, I checked for system update. There was no update. OS version is BLU_LIFT_ONE_X_V12_GENERIC_5.1_20151009-1848. The Android version is 5.1. Kernel version is 3.10.65.
Problems
When I touch the upper part of the phone, Bluetooth sound is complete stops. I have had many other phones and tablets, but I have never seen anything like this. So, basically, when you are holding this phone with the hands in landscape mode, you cannot listen to your Bluetooth audio.
Small good things
It shows small red light on the top left bezel when charging. I hate when a phone does not have a charging light, because then I would have to turn on the screen to see if charging is done or not.
I can turn it on by double tapping the screen when it is off.
Haptic feedback is acceptable. I think Samsung's the best because they feel like springs. Moto G's is worst because it is noisy and feels like some small motor is rotating. One X's does not feel springy like Samsung's but mild and soft, a lot better than Moto G's.
It has two LED flashes, one on the back, and one on the front.
The package contains a lot of stuff: LCD protection film, earphones, flip cover, charger, cable. I probably am not going to use them other than the protection film, perhaps. But they could be valuable to some people.
Small bad things
The USB port is on the left, not on the centre, of the bottom side. And it is upside down, like that of Nexus 7.
The edge is probably made of metal. When charging, I can feel slight electric current there.
The buttons are a little bit too pointy and feel cheap, compared to Galaxy S4. But when compared to Moto G, they are about the same quality.
There is a slight gap between the bottom of the phone and the back cover, especially near the concave area for your finger nail.
