I had put off buying these, but I have managed to get a dent on both sides of my Jeep from the side mirrors swinging into the Jeep when I remove the retention strap. Obviously, a lot of people have experienced the same thing as it is a big motivating factor to buying these covers.
These are a lot different than I expected. I thought they would be cheap, soft rubber adhesive stick-ons, but they aren't. These are formed, hard plastic and molded to the exact shape. They are thick and beefy. Each one is shaped for the specific side it goes on and they are pretty self explanatory to install. The 3M adhesive goes around the entire outer edge of the plastic and seems to hold well. I think it is just enough to hold well without being a huge pain to remove if you needed to in the future.
Bottom line is that I would buy them again. They look great, better than I expected, and they are easy to install. This is a solid purchase even if you don't have dents to cover. I would get them for a new Jeep that I wanted to make sure didn't get the accidental ding from the door.
