Just Get It!!!!

I have not less than 7 different versions of this seminal recording on various media, to include mint MFSL vinyl and Gold CD versions as well as the the Immersion set, and I have to say this is the best of the bunch! The remastering is just incredible. James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman have breathed new life into this incredible work! In some ways it is like listening to DSOTM for the first time - that is the true litmus test of a remaster. Because I owned so many quality versions of this classic, I was a bit reluctant to buy the 2016 release. Now I have two copies, one to listen to and one to preserve to posterity - it is that good. Someday the grandkids will need to hear this work as it was intended to be heard! Kudos to Pink Floyd music for this remastered series and kudos to the artists who honored Pink Floyd's great work! For those of us who cherish vinyl, this is a rare gift!

2016 Pink Floyd "Dark Side Of The Moon" remaster/reissue on vinyl

All of us have had this album more than once. I'm in the process of replacing my vinyl collection and opted to replace my Pink Floyd records with the 2016 remasters. For one, they are packaged like they were when they originally came out and two, to get a fresher perspective with the remastering. I'm so glad I did. Like the original, it came with the original notes, posters and stickers along with an extra wax sleeve to protect your vinyl while leaving the other in tact for collectibility. The sound didn't disappoint either, incredible, rich sound that to me, is perfectly balanced. I previously received the LP, "Wish You Were Here," and it too, gave me the same satisfaction. Whether you're a new or old fan, I promise these remasters are worth it and at a great price.

So I appear to be the only one commenting on this but there are noticeable drop-outs at various places in this MP3 recording.

I agree the overall sound is excellent but the continuous flow of this album is very important and there places, such as between Speak to Me and Breathe, where there is dead air in what should be a sound continuum.

It is very disconcerting and disappointing.

Jaw dropping, must have for any Pink Floyd fan

I have the recent Pink Floyd big box set and thought about this purchase for a long time. I bought the DSOtM on iTunes a couple years ago (2003 remaster). To a certain extent I see what many people here are complaining about, buying an album 3 or 4 times is enough to get anyone upset. These are the same people, like myself, that have bought the cassette, album then the CD, maybe even an online version for the same recording.

My main drive for this version was to purchase a Multichannel version that was perviously only available on SA-CD (Super audio CD) This box includes a quad and a 5.1 mix. I am currently listening to the 2011 remaster and I must say it is nothing short of unbelievable. I plan on listening to the DVD quad mix next, I have not heard that version in 30 years. The clarity and nuances you hear in the remastered 2011 version is nothing short of amazing, it exposes Pink Floyd's musical genius.

As far as the other items in the box, look at the listing, they are nothing to write home about. Some neat stuff but nothing anyone would buy this box set specifically for. Personally I would rather pay less and just get the discs. I would also not feel cheated if they had included a rebate for the 3 box sets when you bought the Big box of Pink Floyd.

What can you say about Dark Side of the Moon. It may be one of the greatest albums ever; way ahead of its time. As a spectroscopist, I love the cover art. They got the order of the colors correct. I even have a bike jersey with the cover design.
