***Update: I've now purchased 3 of these, one for myself, one for my parents, and one for my girlfriend's parents. If you run this at low 24/7, you'll rarely need to change the filter and you'll be able to have clean air at far beyond the rating on this device. I use a Laser Egg monitor to test results by CN scale, US scale, and raw particle count.***
I've used 5 air purifiers and have an air quality monitor from when I lived in Shanghai. This purifier is great on noise, speed, and quality. I highly recommend it to anyone buying this within the US. I bought one as a present for my parents after using this for 1 month.
You don't need as large of a unit as they say. This unit was able to keep my 2000 sq. ft. apt (with 15 foot ceilings) at below 100 particle count of -2.5 micron particles and 0 count for +2.5. Those numbers are not set on the US pollution scale...they are actual particle counts! That's an incredibly low number. Average for my town is 1500-2000 -2.5 micron particles. Just get one and run it on low 24/7. Check filter once every few months. You'll probably forget that it's even there.
