UPDATE: I think I REALLY wish that Rick had killed every male member of that blonde's family, talk about useless mental midgets that are going to get somebody else killed. While I am at it, if we have 1 more "do-gooder" episode of "all life is precious" I am going to perform Seppuku using a damn can-opener.

You can always tell people that have never really watched this program since they always think it is all about zombies.

You can try to explain to them all day long that this is one of the best dramas that television has ever produced that just happens to have zombies in it and they would just look at you like you had lost your mind.

I cannot wait to see what this season brings, it became apparent last season that Rick has finally realized that nothing short of being ready to end ANY threat to the survivors survival has to be dealt with immediately and permanently. Too bad it took some of the characters longer to figure that out.

I expect to see more of this quality in Season 6 and hope we don't lose anymore of the main cast for awhile, these people become part of why you watch the show but those deaths impress upon us that this is also a show of survival and any lapses in that are usually very temporary.

So let's get started, Rick has definitely established himself as the alpha male for this new group and maybe our heroes and heroines can get a break this season and just learn to deal with each other but then again ........ where is the fun in that .

I think we need to recap some Season 5 last episodes a bit:

A guy is such a coward and so plain evil he gets one of your friends killed, then he ambushes you in the woods trying to kill you or get you fed to the walkers, your response is:

A - Kick his butt and then put a bullet in his brain to end any future threat.
B - Win the fight and then tie him to a tree and listen to the walkers have lunch as you walk back to safety.
C - Win the fight, tend his wounds a bit (that you just gave him while trying to save your life), then while beaten and wounded, you carry him on your back to safety.

OK, Answer time.

If you picked A, you are a practical and logical human with strong survival skills
If you picked B, your fighting skills are only exceeded by your overall badassery
If you picked C, you are Glenn and your TSTL card (Too Stupid To Live) is in the mail and we wonder if you are going to be on the menu for some walker in the near future.

I am SO naive, watching the first episode of the season, I told the wife "Only 2 minutes left, nothing really earth shattering can happen now" - I have no idea why I bother to say such stupid things :)

OK, a few seasons ago I really hoped that Carol would bite the dust ..... last couple of seasons she has become a major force and the one person you can count on to do what HAS to be done, the "I can't kill" voices are getting people killed and will have to be dealt with sooner or later.

The BEST show on television EVER!! If the 90 minute episode featuring Lennie James (Morgan) doesn't win any type of Emmy award, either for best writing, directing, best lead actor performance, etc.then the whole system is rigged! Lennie James DESERVES an Emmy Award for his performance in that episode!! This show is not all about horror and zombies, although, yes, that is a big part of it, however it's REALLY about the characters, their story lines, where they came from, how they have changed...It's definitely a character-driven show. That's why we get so upset when they kill off a beloved character (still can't believe they killed off Andrea, Beth, Hershel and now possibly Glenn) with Maggie being pregnant and all. I want to at least know that Glenn knows he's becoming a father. I sure hope Maggie is able to give birth naturally without any complications like Lori had. Hate to say it but in that post walker/biter/roamer-apocalyptic world, maybe it will be a blessing if she has a miscarriage... I know a lot of fans might not like hearing me say that, but just trying to be realistic about such a bleak future it would be for pregnant women during that time. Oh, so much more to write about! I could go on and on. I watched a marathon of the first 3 seasons on Netflix even though I've already seen every episode multiple times before, just wanted a refresher since my memory of the earlier seasons gets a little hazy at times. There are things I've missed before that was worth a second look at the past episodes.

The only drawback with some of the writing is a few noticeable inconsistencies, the first one going back to Season 1 where Rick doesn't know how to hot wire that car so he takes the horse into Atlanta instead, which quickly gets devoured by walkers. Then later, he is able to hot wire a car for Glenn to drive off back to camp with the car alarm blaring...huh? Or when after Lori dies at the prison, Rick bloodies and sweat a lot by slaughtering countless walkers to find Lori's remains, then in the next scene, he is completely cleaned up with a fresh set of clothes on, huh?

I am really anxious and excited for Rick to have a new love interest in Jessie. I just hope for Rick's sake she stays alive for awhile or he'll grow even colder. He needs a good woman like Jessie who isn't afraid to tell him what's what like she does. I don't like the idea of Rick and Michonne. I think they make great friends and confidants but I hope it doesn't lead to anything more. I'm really hoping Michonne gets together with Morgan - they already seem to be developing a bit of chemistry of his so-called missing peanut butter protein bar....ha ha ha...

Is it just me, or does this series just keep getting better ? Most series' hit a peak and then start fading away by now, but this series (season six) the situations and characters never stop evolving. The writers for this show should get a medal or something! And the quality of the camera work, the acting (which is great) the professional sound, the director is brilliant, and last but not least, HOW DO THEY MAKE THAT STUFF LOOK SO REAL!? If it's not CGI, then these guys have made an art of making all the zombie bashing look so real that I actually gasp out loud sometimes! YIKES! The action never stops. The gore is horrifying (but in a good way)...This series reminds me of other fantastic titles, like Justified, or Supernatural (and a select few others) they just keep drawing you in. Everyone I know watches this show. I was looking for something good to watch and my son said The Walking Dead is about the BEST series he's ever seen. Soooo, I started watching it from the first episode, and then I binged all the way to season four and paid for the 5th.... I. Was. Hooked. Bad! We're caught up (dang) and now were waiting for the next episode. And Glen better NOT be dead or I my wife will have a caniption fit!!
SPOILER:This review is for fans that are probably freaking out as bad as I am. Glen is alive! My wife is very happy; when Glen finally crawled out from beneath that dumpster she as punching me in the arm (ouch) and shouting: Ooo! Ooo! I TOLD YOU! I TOLD YOU !!! Honestly, I'd already heard rumors. I'd heard that fans were going to riot, and start a mutiny if Glen was gone. Okay....whew...good one that! But all of a sudden Rick and the "family" are running out of supplies. They're slowly starving, BUT THEN. Rick and Darrell meet a guy....Jesus. Yes, I said Jesus. A guy named Jesus. But this Jesus, (a regular guy) might turn out to be the answer for our desperate heroes? Turns out, not so much. Once again. The writers change gears near midseason.

OMG!!! Did everybody see this ending?!?! WTH! I'm freaking out! Who just got their head.... oh, man!!! Nope...not gonna do it...I just can't potentially spoil this for somebody. But...OH MAN! Does this show freaking rock, or what!? (rhetorical question) The actors, the writers.. BRAVOOOO! (Lots of clapping)

Taking my review down to a 4... here is why.

Great show, but why is our original cast not learning new techniques on how to defend there home. Also, why are there so many flaws to their strategies.

I am also a little irked at the "coincidences" that keep occurring. I would get the tractor hitting the wall at just the right time if the W's were watching... but they were not. It was just a coincidence. And to just happen to land on the horn... CMON!

I am also VERY irked they are not killing some of our main characters, that is one of the reason the show is so dang good. I mean, they dangle it, they tease it, then they pull it back like chickens. CMON!! Part of what makes this great is we never know who is going to bite it. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy our main characters, but its time to rip one from us, make us Cringe!

Zombies, zombies and zombies and we are still getting bit? Idiots.
Also, doesn't it bother you that they are driving junker cars. Why in the heck haven't they found some really good vehicles, armored trucks and such, instead of this garbage they are driving. Its not 40 years later, its a couple years, those things should be all over the place!

Don't get me wrong, I love the show, but they really need to act like they are learning, or whats the point of experiencing the same thing over and over again and not getting better at dealing with it?
