Visions―― The hopes and dreams of legendary warriors given life.
Lapis―― A world of crystals and the visions that slumber within.
Harnessing the power of the crystals, mankind prospered, nations flourished. But just as day gives way to night, that era of peace proved but a fleeting illusion.
Now, as their world stands on the precipice of ruin, two young knights summon visions to their side as they strike out on a journey to chase the shadows.
So begins a new tale of crystals, and the heroes who would save them...

I would have kept this installed but every time I tried to do anything to play it it kept asking me to download more data and I was afraid my tablet was going to use up all my memory so I uninstalled it
Is it just me or does this game crash A LOT? Crashes during battles, during enhancements, while scrolling through characters, etc. It even crashed while idle! There's no way this game should be crashing this much given how long it's been out...
Game is constantly being updated with new characters and events and the community is active and healthy. Friends can grant really powerful guest characters (think Tellah from FF4's beginning) that can really turn the tide of battle. The battles start out way too easy at first especially if you take advantage of the level-up events, but the burst leveling helps keep many characters in even ground and avoids the usual RPG grind for the most part. My only major gripe is how long it takes to load some battles in the field stages (the other type of battle is like an enemy/boss rush survival) where the player can roam around and explore dungeons like in the classic games (lots of secret treasures too). Especially with the high encounter rate, that load time can get annoying. But oh does this game keep me coming back. So many of the series mainstays have gathered all together under the guise of being dimensional spirits that aid the main characters of the story: Everyone from Sarah and Warrior of Light from FF1 all the way to Noctis, Lightning and even Type-O characters from the newer games. Just about everyone is here and they all look so dang good together due to the excellent art and sprite direction. Every character oozes their known personality through their animations and attire. Perhaps the dungeon and town art are a little on the blurry side (as well as often visually glitched during some tile draws), but it all works well enough. But what really surprised on the presentation front is the now new classic soundtrack: rollicking battle bass... Check; thought provoking splendid string ballads in the dungeons... Check; an overworld theme march that has the user craving more of its adventures... Check... This is seriously one of the best from SE and one of the best mobile RPGs by a large margin. Every F2F can owes it to themselves to experience it.
(Before I start this review, I want to explain one thing for those confused about the version of this game in Japan, but to save some confusion for those wanting to know about this version of the game, I will talk about it at the end. )
If you have any history with Final Fantasy (and I mean history, like the stuff that came out in the late 80s and 90s), this game is a well of memories. Not only do they pull characters from nearly every FF game both old and new, they even created what seems like bi-weekly updates to the game. adding new characters, continued story missions, and one off challenges that are sometime ripped right out of other FF games.
I have loved getting addicted to this game. It is rewarding for the free to play gamers and challenging for the pay to win gamers. There is a little co-op...ness(I know, that's not a word) that allows you to use one of your friends(or a random players) sharable character to help you out in missions or in challenges. You Controle their character and use it like your own.
There isn't really and communication with other users, but if you ever need help or a very powerfull friend, go to the FFBraveExvius Reddit page. The community there is foe the most part super helpful. You will always find guides and maps to just about everything.
Speaking of guides, the Exvius Wiki is a wealth of knowledge as well, that is always up to date.
Some missions or locations allow you to run around with your character and get in random fights or talk to NPC's for missions or to buy things. Others will be a string of fights that normally get harder as you go through them.
There is a lot about this game I could talk about, but the truth is you really should play it. It's worth it. But if you have any questions, please fill free to leave a comment, or visit the FFBraveExvius Reddit page and ask away.
Now back to the two versions of this game: This game came out in Japan back in October of last year, and then was rereleased in its vanilla form(meaning all added content was removed) at the end of June this year on iOS and Android, and then released on the Amazon App store in October. (trying to explain as simply I can)The game is currently played on two different servers, and players in one server can not play with the players on the other. The first server is the one hosting the Japanese version of this game, and the other (called the Global Version) is on the other server. The Global version is the version this review is on. The version released last year in Japan is a little more then half a year ahead of this version of the game. Not all special events and characters are the same nor were released in the same time frame as each other, but for the most point, the games are the same and we are slowly getting everything they have, we just so happen to have a good idea of what's coming next and what it will look and feel like because the Japanese version of the game has normally already had the same event or string of missions. If you want a bit more info, I would encourage you to visit the reddit page for this game. There are several posts that outline everything about the two versions in detail, and for anything else you can always ask. As I've said, they are a scary helpful group over there and rather knowledgeable.

I love the original characters but there is also almost every FF character available too. Gacha is fair with a ton of free stuff updated weekly and nostalgic FFevents. The original story is good too. I play this daily :)
Incredible decline in quality over the last months. The developer skip over everything that brings joy to the players (skipping units, qol features and enhancing old units), brute force new units to sell and everything has become a buggy mess. The game is on life support and will probably only run for one more year or two.
Been a player since day one and this is NOT a final fantasy game anymore, just a quick, buggy cash grab
