This is a fine midrange portable Bluetooth speaker with several bonus features which are being waterproof (see my video of it in a large bowl of water) and also being a battery pack providing a USB charging port.

Sound: It sounds very good. Not tremendous on the bass, but a good midrange unit with good sound overall. The bass is more absent at lower volumes than at higher ones. The volume is loud enough that the kids at the same table complained it was too loud at its highest setting. Certainly head and shoulders above my phone speaker and listenable as background music. There are better more expensive units if you want premium sound.

Look and Feel: It is a neat looking unit in a matt finish. It is a little bigger than my hand (see video) and feels solid but not heavy. There is a flap that covers the ports on one side. It covers them solidly but there is no snap or detent to tell you it is in place. So you just trust that it is after you press it in place. On one side are four buttons (on/off, play/pause/pair, up volume/next track, down volume/prior track). The buttons are a bit hard to press - it is certainly the case you'll have to hold the unit in one hand while pressing with the other. I would have preferred some buttons on the top. It comes packaged in a very fancy transparent package that makes it feel quite upscale, but that package is a little difficult to open and the unit a small puzzle to remove. Once out, you realize the package is a bit overkill and I felt it was a bit wasteful for them to spend so much on it just to see it go in the trash.

I really like this compact, lightweight Bluetooth speaker. Pairing with my Android phone is quick and easy. Sound is not super loud, but very good for a speaker of this size. Don't expect it to fill a room with rich sound, but it is more than adequate if you're a few feet away. Some small speakers will painfully distort the sound at higher volumes, but this one is still tolerable at maximum volume. Battery life is great. A charging cable is included, but it uses the same cable as my phone (and most non-Apple phones). For this price and size, this is the best Bluetooth speaker that I have used.

Love the size, it was super easy to pair to my iPhone. It came with a charge, so we were able to use it right out of the box. For the price and the size, I was very happy with the sound. It says that as long as the side cover (where the ports are) is in place, it is completely waterproof. I haven't thrown it in the pool yet, but it is nice to know that if it does get tossed in by a child or guest at our house, we will be ok.

This is a great, solid little speaker. It's easy to use, the playback time is lengthy (I got more than the 24 hours promised), and it paired reliably and easily with my devices over and over.

I used this mostly with my iPad Mini, watching TV shows at my desk. The sound quality is great. Pointing it at an up angle provided great sound distribution - it didn't fill the room but it did improve the range at which it sounded great.

What I like:
High-quality, realistic sound when watching TV shows.
Good bass and balance for tv and movies, and a little better than what you'd expect for music considering the size of the speaker. (The piano bit at the beginning of "Don't Stop Believin'" didn't punch as much as I think it should have.)
Single volume control - if you adjust the volume on the speaker or your device, you're adjusting the same volume.
A nice, low tone sounds and lights flash on the controls when you turn it on, so you know it's on. (there are no steady power indicator lights on this device)
The kickstand works really well.
There are little no-skid feet on the bottom and the back to keep the speaker in place when you put it down.
It looks and feels nice.
The matte finish is smooth and not rubbery so it should stay clean!
I like the concept of it being waterproof even if I don't intend use it much in the elements.
Auto-off is totally useful.

What I don't like:
It beeps obnoxiously if you max out the volume.
Max volume isn't as high quality as 3/4s or lower. Fine for parties though. ;)
The buttons aren't easy to push - you really have to grip the speaker to press the volume, play or power buttons.
The power button is a push-and-hold button. You need to hold it for a 5 count to get it to turn on which seems a little long.

Wish list:
I wish it had a d-ring for a strap or something.

When I first got this out of the mail locker I thought--oh no...bet it isn't going to work. Why? Because when I took the box out of the locker I could hear and feel the speaker moving around. So of course I then shook the box and it hit from side-to-side. Never fear! The speaker came in a hard plastic case which was wrapped in a bubble wrap. My biggest technical challenge was getting the speaker out of the plastic case. The first challenge was opening the case as I didn't see the four clear plastic round stickers securing the back of the case. Got those off and opened it. The speaker was securely nestled in the hard plastic. That was the second challenge as I was afraid I'd damage it. Gave it to my son who rolled his eyes and of course got it right out.

We, as a family, do a lot of out door activities at the pool and often it seems like in the rain. We wanted a speaker we could pair with one of our phones for music and a few of us for audio books. We did not dunk this phone in a bowl or sink of water, but based on another review it appears the speaker will survive to flourish another day if you do get caught in the rain or it falls in the pool.

The sound is not top notch, but for the price of the speaker you wouldn't expect it to be. That said the speaker is above average. The base, trevel and mid-range sounds are decent. We like loud music and it played well without a buzzing sound that so many cheaper speakers offer you when you crank up the volume. I listened to a bit of a male read and a female read audiobook and the sound was also above average. Actually it was comparable to my expensive stereo which plays CD's and my computer with its speaker. So very very good on the audio.Read more ›
