For a few years now, scientists have known about the existence of another brain within our bodies. This second brain, or "brain down below" is none other than our stomach. The stomach's intelligence is a new avenue of research that is fascinating research teams the world over.
This feels a lot like dipping your toes into a subject. I feel as this was all surface information and I think they could have presented this information with more detail in certain areas. Its a great overview if you are just interested in glossing over the details.
As the inventor of the "Brain Activator Massage" as soon as I saw this movie I HAD to watch it! I found it so fascinating I immediately posted to my FB Business Page with a rave, a link and then shared THAT to my timeline. We can improve things such as depression, mood swings, reactivity and "irrational" behavior simply by addressing what is happening in our gut. Nice to EXPLAIN why our "rational mind" can get HIJACKED so easily those things seem to take an unexplainable direction. WATCH THIS VIDEO!
This documentary doesn't really come to any conclusions or give any absolutes, it merely discusses some of the research that is being done on the "gut." One aspect I would have liked to see is the opposite position. This film talks about how the gut affects the brain, but what about the reverse? How does the brain, and/or how do emotions effect the gut? We all know if someone receives bad news or has an unpleasant experience they may get nauseous, vomit or have diarrhea. How does negative external action cause a reaction in the gut? So, while this film poses some interesting perspectives, there are other points of view that need to be explored as well.
The filmmakers dressed an important, but often dull, science with tasteful visual arts. Very interesting views into the recent findings and current directions of research into the interplay of the ecosystem within us.
Well made and appreciated by a family practitioner
