So I really do enjoy the idea of giving myself my really deep neck massage, since I can't get anyone to stand around me all day and do it. This thing sounded amazing. In actual use? It's pretty good - it definitely massages the parts you can get it to sit at on your neck, so the sides of your neck have it good. But two main problems. I get a lot of tension pain along the center of my neck and into the skull, in that divot there. This thing really can't get in there unless you rotate it and jam the nub up in there. Which...is weird, lol, and now you could pretty much do that with anything, like a golf ball, so this isn't doing anything special for that. Ok, and the part I dislike the most. So using it, you do tend to want to use it in a rotating motion so it's not just kinda wedging in these numbs, but rubbing your neck like thumbs would....but by using that motion, it bends it in that back-center area (the plastic above the nubs in the product picture), so when you're done and you look at the product, one side is now warped to be higher and one side is now lower.....the product remains slightly twisted. So now, it no longer is perfectly balanced at the same point on both sides of the next, and also the plastic feels like, in time, it could eventually snap. So....it has its good uses, but it also has some drawbacks. I like it....just don't love it.

The only thing a person who is not a contortionist can massage is the neck. Shoulders are possible only by bending it open so far it could snap the plastic. The balls are rubber, which won't move smoothly over fabric or skin because the rubber material sticks to both. Pay more and get a solomax or the equivalent that can reach the back easily and will roll over clothing and bare skin easily. There's no sense in straining yourself in order to massage yourself.

After a little practice, I figured out how to massage my shoulders and shoulder blades by putting one handle under my arm (near the armpit). It takes a little practice, but once you get it, it feels great!

Also I don't like when others rub my neck bc to me it's painful. With this, I can do it myself and apply as much or as little pressure in the areas it hurts. I can really maneuver it and it feels very therapeutic.

Wow, does this thing feel good on the neck! Only complaint is the screw-in massage heads start to unscrew every time I use it and I have to rescrew them in constantly. Both male and female threads are plastic, so I don’t want to overtighten and strip threads. I’ll probably get to the point where I’ll Loctite them.

Flexible enough to get down into your lower neck or target your upper neck! With just a few minutes of use, I could feel my muscles letting up and increased blood flow. I bought it because my massage therapist was on a sabbatical, and it will also do well for fill-in between sessions when she returns. Heck, I may just hook it around certain sore muscles at work and let it put constant pressure on them!

I'm not sure what instructions the negative reviews were looking for. Put around neck, dig into sore spots. There's not much more to it!
