History happens every day! Check in with Alexa to find out about the historical events that happened on this day and every other day of the year. Come back each day and say 'Alexa, launch This Day in History' to hear the top historical event for the day. You can also ask Alexa for a historical event for any other day by saying “Alexa, ask This Day in History what happened on February 4th”, for example.
Great for history buffs. Would be even better if we could have a version specific to the time period we are interested in like "This Day In Ancient History", "This Day in Medieval History", etc. Would also like to be able to include it in my "Flash Briefing"
This would work better as a Flash Briefing with 3-4 different facts for each day. Right now it only gives one at a time, and if you ask for another, you may get the same one.
Alexa will briefly mention something that happened on this date and then give you three options: hear more about this event, hear a different event from this date, or choose another date. At first the choices confused me because it's not totally clear how you should answer. And I wasn't expecting Alexa to ask me a question. Now I'm used to it and enjoy listening to the info.
Get historical events for today or ask for a specific day. I thought I would be able to ask for a specific date (month, day, and YEAR) but I couldn't get that sort of response. Seemed a bit US-centric...would be cool(er) if I could ask about a day in a specific country.
This skill is great to have when waking up in the morning and wanting to start your day off with a little bit of knowledge! It plays every time and talks about some pretty cool stuff. My only complaint is that I wish there was more information provided. I know that more then one event has happened on a single day. If they continue to expand and update this could become a must have skill.
