USDA Organic
USDA Organic is protected by law, inspected by experts, traced from farm to store, and shaped by public input. USDA develops and enforces the organic standards, which require products to be produced using farming practices that maintain and improve soil and water quality, minimize the use of synthetic materials, conserve biodiversity, and avoid genetic engineering, among other factors. Crops can be certified organic if they’re grown without prohibited substances such as most synthetic fertilizers and pesticides for three years prior to harvest. Livestock are raised on pasture and treated humanely without growth hormones or antibiotics. Organic products do not contain GMOs or artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Products that contain a minimum of 95 percent organic ingredients and use the USDA Organic seal are part of Climate Pledge Friendly.

From the manufacturer
We want the best when it comes to our food. Why would we want anything different for our vitamins and supplements?
We are fanatical about food. We’re different that way. Whether we’re making a vitamin, or a probiotic, or a protein powder, we always start with real foods and these (foods) provide our formulas the power to be their best. We’re different that way, too. The synthetically created, chemical “breakthroughs” from huge commercial laboratories around the world are not for us.
As fanatical as we are over what goes into our products, we are even more obsessed about the things we keep out of them. We hate those synthetic chemicals that most companies use to make their products. This stuff makes machines work faster, and helps factories churn out super-sized containers at higher “efficiency.” We’re uncompromising about your health. Slow it down, make it by hand, grow it in rich soil with enough sun, air, water and time for it to be its best. Harvest it when ready. Treat it with care. Turn it into a power-packed nutritious food supplement. That’s what we are about.

The Science of Whole FoodYour body was created to eat, process, and derive its nutrition from food—real, healthy food. So, when we create our products, we start by looking at food. What is the “good stuff” in quality food that we are missing in our diets? Which of those foods have the greatest potential to impact—and empower—extraordinary health? |
Clean is healthyWe start with what goes IN our products—true, whole food ingredients. But we don’t stop there. We also pay very close attention to what we keep OUT of them. And once again, we look at food—real nutrition food. When is the last time you picked up an apple, turned to read the ingredients, and saw a list of chemicals? If it’s not in your food, then we don’t want it in our supplements. |
TraceabilityTraceability is key to what makes Garden of Life’s products so special. Traceability starts with knowing where each and every ingredient in our products comes from and getting to know each and every source: where it’s grown; the farming practices; how they pay and treat the farm workers—everything. That’s why it’s so important to start with fruits and vegetables that are grown without these chemicals. We want to get the good stuff from foods that are grown without any of the bad stuff. |

Product Description
Our Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is among the healthiest, most versatile dietary oils in the world-and it's Raw. Our Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is simply the best tasting, most aromatic coconut oil on the planet-if you ask us. Unlike refined coconut oils, our Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is not hydrogenated, bleached, refined or deodorized. It is produced using the same methods farmers have used for centuries. Meat from only the finest, organically grown coconuts is shredded and cold-pressed to create coconut milk, then filtered and separated to extract only the highest-quality oil. Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is a stable, healthy, naturally saturated fat that is free from trans-fatty acids. It contains medium-chain fatty acids, including lauric acid, caprylic acid and capric acid, which are readily converted to energy by the body.

Product Quality:
Superior! This is some of the best coconut oil I have tried. You can tell it's raw, unrefined, and organic just by its texture and aroma. It's USDA certified organic and non-GMO, so you know you're getting a quality product.
Ease of Use:
Very versatile and easy to use. Whether it's for cooking or beauty routines, the oil blends in seamlessly. The jar design also allows for easy scooping.
The Garden of Life Coconut Oil has become my go-to for several needs. In the kitchen, it's my preferred oil for cooking and baking due to its delicious, nutty flavor. In terms of weight management, the medium-chain fatty acids are a welcome addition to my diet. It's also cold-pressed, which retains its health benefits.
For personal care, it works wonders as a deep conditioner for my hair and is an excellent natural moisturizer for my skin. The gluten-free and dairy-free aspects make it suitable for everyone in my family. This product has become indispensable in my household, and I can't recommend it enough!
The issue I had was that my fridge door didn't want to shut all the way, and sometimes, when you closed it too hard, it would bounce back open. This let to a too warm fridge and condensation inside. After a brief internet search, I came to believe it was the door cams.
As you can see from the picture I was correct. The cams on the right are the new cams, and the ones on the left are the old ones. I'm sure my aunt didn't change them and I haven't had an issue in the 12yrs I've had it, but that cam was almost worn through. I'm surprised it lasted this long.
It was very easy to replace. You only need a 5/16" nut driver or wrench. They were a little tight, but that's to be expected. You take one screw out of the cap over the hinge. Three screws out of the hinge and the door lifts off. I laid it on the kitchen table and the top and bottom cams have one screw each. The one in the door has a peg that goes into the door and may take a little more force to remove. Be aware that while the freezer door is the same, you have to unplug the power cable, which is under the top hinge cover and you also have to remove the grate at the bottom to unhook the water line. The grate is just friction fit. Pull on it from the sides and it pops off. The water line need the little raised plastic where the water line goes into the connector depressed and the line comes out. It's like a Chinese finger trap and will just push back in to reconnect. It goes through the cam and you may need help threading it and/or holding the door when reinstalling this one.
The freezer cam wasn't in bad shape and had minimal wear. That's to be expected as it doesn't get as much use. This kit includes enough cams to do both doors and it also had two extra bottom cams, which probably wear out the fastest. I'm really happy as it'll make it last longer and it was a good price.
They also included a couple of pieces of mesh, cut to the shape of the cams. I didn't know what these were for and didn't install them. There were also extra screws. I assume in case the old ones were stripped or damaged. I held onto them, but reused the old screws. It probably took 20 min with cleaning the doors, cracks and crevices that never get a good cleaning. The only thing extra you should probably do is order a food safe silicone lubricant. It's not necessary, but after doing all of this, I found out that it supposedly makes them last longer between needing to be replaced. The youtube.com video I watched said that he had to replace his about every 6 months. I assume you put it between the teeth as nothing else would have friction.
It works excellently now. I can shut it easy or slam it and it locks up tight. No more issues with finding it cracked and condensation all in the fridge.
